Brushing aside pressure from Canada, Secretary of State John Kerry said Friday that the United States will not be pushed into making a decision on the long-delayed Keystone XL pipeline.
At a joint appearance with Canada's foreign affairs minister, John Baird, Kerry said he has not received a crucial environmental report on the $7 billion pipeline, which would carry oil from western Canada to refineries in Texas.
"My hope is that before long, that analysis will be available, and then my work begins," Kerry said, referring to a recommendation he is expected to make on whether the pipeline is in the U.S. national interest. The State Department has jurisdiction over the pipeline because it crosses an international border.
Kerry, who has rarely spoken about the pipeline since taking office a year ago, said "a lot of questions" were raised about the project in a lengthy public comment period the State Department conducted. "Those comments have necessitated appropriate answers," he said.

Congressman BillyBob is sorely missed. I never met him, though he lived up the mountain from us. We had some great correspondence and a few conversations.
I did not know that he was able to document how consistent Kerry’s “character” has been since his late teenaged years. I guess Obama keeps Kerry around to make himself look good, in comparison.

I’ve come to the conclusion that our political “leaders” are chosen at birth. Or at least at a very young age. Otherwise how do dummies like Kerry and Gore and all the rest, from both parties, climb to such heights?

The Canadians aren’t waiting any longer. The pipeline from Edmonton to Kitimat will be started soon. The Chinese will buy the oil if the Americans don’t want it.
They will wait until Canada gives up, then blame them for not respecting our processes or something like that.

The responsibility for his incredible ascent is due entirely to the Masshole Voter, Gawd Bless'im, who thought he was voting for yet another Kennedy. It's dark in those commonwealth voting booths, the voter often intoxicated and astigmatic, so as the Democrat bends over to cast one of his many votes of the day, all he can see is the "K" and the "Y."
Kerry contributed to this for years, claiming to be an Irishman and in fact, a Kennedy "cousin," although actually an exotic genetic potpourri of Jew and Yankee, with a soupcon of French, and who actually passed as a hockey player and Roman Catholic acolyte, or so we are told.
Furthermore, the same folks who brought you Elizabeth Warren and Mumbles Mennino can not be expected to research Kerry's record at Yale. He did get a "B" in French.
