Expanded map boosts GOP confidence
The Hill ^ | Jan 19, 2014 | Alexander Bolton

In order to flip the six seats they need to win back control, Republicans now believe they have widened the map to nearly a dozen competitive contests — a marked jump from earlier this year.

But while Republicans are feeling increasingly optimistic, they are stopping short of bold public predictions, remembering the dashed expectations of recent election cycles in which Tea Party candidates torpedoed their chances.

...McConnell faces a challenger backed by the Senate Conservatives Fund and the Madison Project.

I hope Republicans/conservatives won't insist on snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory -- right now some seem to be more interested in defeating incumbent Republicans than defeating Democrats...

Tell your masters that I will not vote for any candidate supporting Amnesty or going along with Obama in driving the country over the cliff in general. Regards.

Two years of Caliph Baraq and a Republican controlled House and Senate might be fun to watch. I guarantee he will get snotty, LOL.

...remembering the dashed expectations of recent election cycles in which the national party's refusal unite behind Tea Party candidates who had won GOP primaries torpedoed their chances.

There, fixed that.

Wait till the GOP passes amnesty.
That expanded map won’t mean crap when tens of millions of conservatives stay home.

Not if the GOP passes amnesty. In fact, that will be the end of the GOP.

“Right now” it’s primary season.
There aren’t any chances to fight Democrat socialists!

Let’s hope the establishment offers some acceptable candidates to the voters.

The MSM is a big factor in Senate races, because there are only 33, and many of those are not competitive to begin with.

Many of these Tea Party Senate candidates were not prepared for the kind of onslaught the MSM can deliver, and via poorly delivered statements, actually supplied the ammo for Democrat campaign adverts. That was never shown so well as in Indiana where Murdoch ran 10 points BEHIND lame Romney.

It’s very disappointing to see them not prepped to deal with issues that are talked about on Limbaugh and FR every day.

Is the US Senate better off w/o Mitch?

The answer to that question governs.

Hopefully, starting with McConnell.
