The Obama administration announced a proposal to grant 30-year permits for wind turbine facilities to kill bald and golden eagles, causing an uproar among environmentalist groups.

The National Audubon Society, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the American Bird Conservancy, and the Conservation Law Center are some of the environmental organizations opposing the permits.
The National Audubon Society referred to the 30-year permit proposal as “a stunningly bad move.”

Sounds about right. After all, the Eagle is an American symbol. Why wouldn’t he want them killed?
Just turn off the windmills during the day. And then turn them off at night to save the owls and bats. They could turn them on for like three minutes at dawn. But that would probably scare the gophers that the eagles eat, so the only thing to do is to build more dams.

Unless you are a Native American simply picking up an eagle feather in the woods could bring you a hefty fine if not jail time under federal laws. Killing an eagle could get you serious time in a federal prison. Any type of land development that might even have any effect on eagle habitat let alone cause the death of eagles would be stopped by federal authorities. However you can build a monster windmill that chops up eagles like a blender and that is OK. What total hypocrisy.

What company is the largest US manufacturer of wind turbines? What company stands to sell plenty of natural gas generators in the forced shift from coal to natural gas? What company used its propaganda, er, broadcast arm to boost candidate Obama and global warming fears at every turn? None other than GE, whose CEO Jeffrey Immelt chaired the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, and which appears to be quite effective at leveraging crony capital in DC.
