Progress can evaporate without vigilance, Brown warns (CBC Congresswoman)
The Ocala Star-Banner ^ | January 19, 2014 | Bill Thompson

Making a rare Ocala visit on the eve of the holiday recognizing black America’s greatest civil rights leader, U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown exhorted members of a predominantly black church on Sunday to remain politically vigilant, lest the gains made by minorities over the past 50 years be reversed.

Appearing at the St. Paul African Methodist Episcopalian Church, the Jacksonville Democrat warned that inertia and indifference by black voters, especially young people, could lead to setbacks on voting rights, health care, education and other issues.

Yet it also mattered at the lowest levels of government, and in elections farther down the ballot, she said.

“Any day you don’t vote we don’t win,” Brown said. “Our work is not done, and there’s work for each and every one of us.”

“Just showing up makes a difference,” she added later.

And while Brown did not mention Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by name, she insisted the political strides made by blacks over the last half-century were attributable to leaders who were willing to challenge the existing power structure.

“You have to elect people who know why they’re in the room, because they’re not just in the room because they’re so pretty, or they’re so fine or they’re so smart. We are standing on tall shoulders, tall shoulders,” Brown, now in her 11th term on Capitol Hill, told a group of about 80 people gathered at the church in northwest Ocala....

Such clowns--her, Sheila Jackson-whatever. No sense, no class, just caricatures pre-programmed to spout racism.

Why cannot the black community recognize and elect people like Star Parker, Alan West, Clarence Thomas, Sowell, who don't look like clowns and who dress with "gravitas"LOL!

“Brown said. “Our work is not done, and there’s work for each and every one of us.””

Did she tell her constituents to work?
They who are into the Free $hit concept, are not going to be happy with her!

She is a beneficiary of the racist double standard of Black Race Privilege. Her congressional district was drawn up to ensure a black majority that will always give a black racist block vote to a black candidate.
