Rosa Parks was more presentable. Likewise in the abortion rights issue, the real” Jane Roe” never came to the forefront because she was unpresentable. She was really just a pawn of Sarah Weddington, who was looking for a test case, to overthrow the Texas abortion law. Sarah represents that class of women who have materially profited from abortion on demand, upper-middle class white women, those who form the core of the feminists movement.

I agree. King, after all, was the minister of a conservative congregation and replaced a more radical pastor. He was pushed into a leadership role but then decided to embrace it. Yes, there were communists. But let us not ignore just how bad segregation was. Grown men were treated like boys. I witnessed this and wondered why people did it.

He craved white women...not unusual for many black men...he was with one night before he was shot

That’s not my issue....I fancy white women too

Its that King was no better than the shakedown crew with him on the range at the Lorraine where Ray murdered him

Its a bright shining lie....hat tip some lefty author....Sheehan

A lie bought by all but a few....and a harbinger that we haven’t the will to prevail

I agree with what you said. I saw the Colored and White signs in Norfolk in the mid-1950s and wondered why this was allowed. Dr. King was right in what he tried to do, but other hands manipulated him as I mentioned in my post.

Once caught in Communist/KGB sandwich, it is pretty hard to get out. FDR had a lot of Soviet agents and supporters high up in his administration and never purged them even when warned by both the FBI and advisor A.A. Berle about this.

For a good book on the subject, see “Stalin’s Secret Agents: The Subversion of Roosevelt’s Government” by M. Stanton Evans and the late Herbert Romerstein, two friends of mine who were among the top experts in this area (Haynes and Klehr are the key experts on Venona Papers as well as the Soviet Archives; Also see “The Mitrokhin Archive and the Secret History of the KGB” by Christopher Andrew & Vasili Mitrokhin).

What could turn out to be an explosive story is just who “controls” or “guides” President Obama. A number of historians/researchers are looking into his undisclosed and covered up background, and what they have found so far isn’t pretty. The trail was very well covered up by the Left and the media has shown almost no interest in this subject (possibly because it involves some media people).

Never understand the intelligence and guile that our enemies bring in the fight to destroy us. If you understand that one “guiding principle”, then you are beginning to understand the subterranean subversion that has been going on in this country since the early 1900’s.

Dr. King was just another prominent figure in the Soviet/KGB/GRUs long line of subverted people that they used to further their plans for our destruction.

If we ever get to reveal the whole story about Communism and Congresspeople, then you will understand another battlefield in which the Communists have won great victories and still are. Only the names of the players and organizations that they belong to have changed - not the ideology, the strategies & tactics, nor the goals.

To borrow a phrase from the “X Files” - “The Truth Is Out There” only some are trying to prevent us from uncovering it. Who “they are” is what will shock you.

Well, yes. If the Catholic Church could be infiltrated by the Communists, the Civil Rights movement could also be. Reagan tells us that as he became aware how fanatical the Communists in Hollywood were, he started carrying a pistol for self-protection. That was when he turned solidly against them. But life is complicated. The Civil Rights movement had a whole spectrum of supporter. This included the 10 percent of white Southerns who had always opposed the segregation regime, even when the upper crust was for it, and when they made eugenics one of their tools to suppress the blacks. The thing is that this was a social revolution, and there is never anything pure and tidy about revolutions. And give King credit for knowing when to draw the line. Plenty of Southren cops, men of good will, could tell you about how much of their own blood they themselves shed trying the keep the demonstrations from becoming riots. But King did convince most of the blacks to keep their guns at home, and this being the South, there were plenty of them available to them.

One of the problems in dealing with Dr. King’s legacy is that we do not have all the documents available on and by him. Some are due to be released in 2027 but a few of us, based on previous experiences, expect that some will mysterious disappear, these boxes being marked “MISSING” on inventories.

[Divergence for a moment: Dr. King DID NOT have full control over his political/social activities. When you have your two top advisors/personal secretary being Soviet agents/top covert CPUSA members, you are not your own man any more. Just how much influence they had on him is unknown, though Levison did testify before the Church Committee in Executive Session and told some of his KGB activities. Jack O’Dell never told anything about his CP/KGB asset role. However, Dr. King was not a man in charge of his own fate once the reds got their hooks into him.]
,
I know of efforts in the past where communists in Congress tried to have internal security records destroyed, and when that failed, John Conyers (D-Mich) got them literally impounded for 50 years, way above the legitimate non-disclosure to the public retention schedule allowed by law.

Only a lawsuit by another historian got them opened up to the public, and documents I was told existed by govt intell people, could not be found. One concerned a suspected Soviet KGB agent in Congress. An Air Force intelligence historian told me that my Pulitzer Prize would be from that document.

Don’t know what Sen. Church hid re the King files. Know that he nearly got the top US counter-intelligence operation in the Soviet Union destroyed and agents killed. You can find references to this in “Operation SOLO: The FBI’s Man in the Kremlin”, Regnery, 1996.

Ironically, the Wash. Post had a historian, David Garrow, do a book review in today’s “Outlook” section about the anti-war protestors burglary of the FBI office in Media, Pa., whose documents revealed the COINTELLPRO operations against the Left.

Garrow was the one who actually enabled Barron (a late friend), to get his book cleared by the FBI for publication after waiting for 10 years. Garrow found out about Operation SOLO and was, perhaps, innocently (but stupidly) going to write about it. You can find his comments about SOLO in “The FBI and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.”.

What was funny about this is that a friend of mine, the late Ray Wannell, was the FBI agent/officer who ran the SOLO operation and no one knew about it. One of America’s top ops against the Soviets and no one blabbed.

Today’s FBI is NOT that of the old days of Hoover and his men.

I might also add that last night I found the name of the SOLO agent in a congressional hearing where he was listed as the editor of the Communist Party USA’s newspaper. This was about 5 years before he left the Party due to bad health, and then was literally “turned” into an America agent for the FBI while in a hospital bed. This DATE becomes important when writing the final history of OPERATION SOLO, yet to come.

This man, who I also recently found in FBI reports from 1940, may yet still play an important part in revealing Soviet penetration of American politics, up-to and including the White House.

Stay tuned. Things are getting interesting.
