FR has changed a lot in the past decade.

I think a lot of it is brought on by frustration realizing the painful descent of the Republic into the cesspool of progressive elite control.

Good point. Character is an important part of true education, and most public schools are antithetical to learning good character.

And the people who worry about “socialization”-who wants their children socialized by a group of their age peers, a good many of whom will be conducive to negative “socialization”?

Not all public schools are bad,..

Yes, they are bad.

ALL government owned and run K-12 schools are godless in their philosophic worldview and curriculum ( by law.) The children who attend must learn to think and reason godlessly just to cooperate while in the godless classroom. That is more than bad. It is EVIL!

ALL government owned and run K012 schools are single-payer socialist entitlements. The children risk learning that the same voting mob that gives them tuition free schooling is also powerful enough to give them **lots** of socialist “free” stuff. This, too, is not only bad, it is EVIL!
