I would say most people agree with you. That’s why we live in the world we live in. It is a choice.
As far as this guy perhaps not being safe to walk around NYC alone. You are probably right about that. He sure got himself injured doing exactly that!

How much “resistance” do you suppose an 84 year old man used in that scenario?
The greatest mistake the 84 year old made was supposing he lived in a free nation.
