I never cease to be amazed by the willingness of Libtards to fully illustrate the fact that they are complete and total MORONS. It’s like they are very proud of their lack of intelligence.
Someone as laughably uninformed about firearms has no business making policy regarding their possession and use. I would not even allow someone that ignorant to handle one until he/she had been taught the basics.
I suppose on one level we should thank him - he and others like him offer us tremendous opportunities. We can quite easily hold him up as an example of the woefully uninformed. This can lead to real education about firearms and their use. When people have the facts, not emotional agenda-driven drivel, they realize gun control is a terrible idea.
I am looking at my Bushmaster right now.
It is just sitting there. It’s not killing anyone. I am waiting for it to get up, drive my truck to the mall and start blasting everyone.
It must be tired, its not doing anything.
The author shows his own illiteracy. A semi automatic firing off 15 rounds per second? That is some quick finger pulling.
This author is not showing much gun knowledge. AK-47s and variants are 30cal and hold 30 rounds.
Obviously, he must have been referring to this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKlnMwuCZso
Or 10, or 20, or 40, or 75.
If you’re going to criticize someone’s terminology, you’d better get it right yourself. “peaked” should be “piqued”.
And to afficionados, clip is not the same thing as magazine, but clip has been used for magazine in writings fiction and non-fiction alike forever in the last century, regardless of its accuracy, such that it’s almost been interchangeable. It’s a shame that it has done so, but that has almost become acceptable usage. I’m not saying I agree with it, but it’s almost trite to keep complaining about that as a far-fetched mis-use of the term.
Now as far as the rest of the article, I’ll give the author credit. .30 caliber magazine? That’s pretty bad! The rate of fire is certainly a misrepresentation. My AR 15 can’t come near to firing at the rate that the elected official claims it can be fired at.
So to start off the argument using clip and magazine as the initial talking points denigrates the discussion. That is the least meaningful part of the discussion and causes the argument to lose the impact it otherwise would have.
Yup. Caught my eye too.
Every time gun owners in this country seek more freedom, the statist anti’s always catch up, and try to take it away. ALWAYS. It may take them a few years — I’ve had unfinished receivers since 2009 — but they eventually get around to laws limiting these newfound freedoms.
The know an equal amount about health care - does not stop them for regulating it as well.
I had a discussion with a libinlaw that was pretty funny.
Of course, it was on gun control, and he vehemently and somewhat arrogantly stated that people have no business owning semi-automatic guns.
I said “please explain to me how a ‘semi-automatic gun’ works”.
He looked at me rather sheepishly knowing he couldn’t BS through it, and said “I don’t know”.
I explained. Didn’t change his mind, but pointed out his ignorance on the topic.
Agreed.
If his intent is to educate then mistakes are regrettable but only a technical foul. If (one) is going to mock they should be rock-certain of all their facts or they can look as foolish as their foe!
Remington mdl 742 or 7400 is a semi-auto hunting rifle that is available in 30-06...(A 30 caliber)...Has been available for years and years....
‘This author is not showing much gun knowledge. AK-47s and variants are 30cal and hold 30 rounds.’
You would never refer to the 7.62x39 as a .30 cal. The .30 cal might be the Imperial equivilant of 7.62mm Metric but it is a specific round (7.62mmx33), typically used in the M-1 carbine or Ruger Blackhawk.
WWII Browning BAR is .30-06, M-1 is also 30-06, M-1 “tanker” is .308, M-14 IIRC is .308, M-1 carbine is .30 caliber “ball” ammo. Remington makes semi-auto sporting .30 caliber.
