yikes, I don't know if you are on medicare or not, but the 20% from Aetna is under certain rules on payments set by the government. Now with Obama care, I am not sure what is going to happen this year. Since Jan. is my birthday, any changes will hit me this year. Received my SS information on what they will be paying me for this year and I think it was about 10 dollars a month increase. Nothing from Aetna yet..you have god awful payments for health insurance. Those payments would take up 3/4 of my SS including the 104 dollars for medicare...every month......the government dictates that I have to take X amount of dollars from my IRA every year. That started when I was 72. It changes from year to year, depending on how much I have in my IRA Thank you George Bush, thats when that law got passed. The IRA depends on what the stock market is doing...so it varies from year to year..

I'm 57. The rates I'm paying are the fabulous benefit of being a senior employee with 22 years service and an employer sponsored healthcare plan. What a deal! The plan is self + spouse. I'm still funding my IRA. It's the ONLY income I'll have in retirement. The accrued value dropped in half when the stock market crashed in 2008. Before my company split, they would match 100% of up to 6% of my salary. Now they will only match 50%. I expect to end life with a face plant in my keyboard. Retirement is very unlikely.
