Stop stop stop with the envy of academics. Yes, we do make good money. Yes, we spent years on book learnin’. However...

Few, if any, on FR will ever be caught dead envying academics.

Many, however, are condemning the strain of academia that has actively hated our national history and preached Marxism since the 60s, and that has taken massive government contracts that have resulted in government muzzling free speech, government dictating the outcomes of "research", and government using universities as atheist, collectivist indoctrination centers instead of temples of learning and free inquiry.

If the shoe fits, wear it. If not, go underground where you are, and stop identifying with the victim class.

A strong, sad strain of anti-intellectualism has survived in the U.S. from the Nineteenth Century, promulgated to this day by evangelists (Bible faith cannot equal book learnin’) and grifters like $arah Palin (buy my book, dontcha know).

Mark Twain wrote several hilarious essays on this very topic.

I’ve found that people who call university teachers “Marxists” have no idea what goes on within college campuses, envy someone getting paid to study, and are scared to death of college-types, by gum!(I’d NEVER set foot in a classroom because I might catch the LIBERALISM! Augh!)

Pathetic.

/It’s easier to be deliberately ignorant than to have one’s beliefs challenged.
