How has that worked out with cigarettes? Created a black market benefiting who?
You would think we would have learned something from what drug legalization did to China between 1820 and 1920.
Half the Adult male population of Manchuria addicted to opium?
There are WORSE possible futures than having a continuation of the highly successful war on drugs. The Fire is not an improvement on the frying pan.
Of course I am not advocating for for prohibition
Are you advocating for legal meth, cocaine and heroin?
Most liquor sellers do not desire that their customer base become addicted. Liquor doesn’t stay in the body as long as THC, which can be detected up to 30 days after use. If pot is a harmless thing then will pilots and brain surgeons and school bus drivers be allowed to use it and then perform their duties? The mellow pot of Obama’s choom wagon days is not what is sold now, he is an idiot.
Let him be mellow about letting Malia and Sasha toke up, not my kids
having lost a child to drug overdose after he went through the escalation from pot to harder thrills and a total personality change, and having lost 2 sisters-in-law law to car crash caused by being t-boned by a pothead, I am not swayed by the argument that uninhibited drug use (or prostitution or abortion on demand or celebrating public sexual behaviors) makes our society freer and healthier for future generations
We shall have to disagree on where the govt of the people draws the line on personal choices, in the interest of society
Shouldn't that be decided by individual states per the Tenth Amendment, rather than fedgov?
It certainly hasn’t effected the over all sale of cigarettes, has it? The things are still out there and the tobacco companies are still making a profit although I’m sure they’d like to make more of a profit. Moonshing has become a million dollar a year business in rural West Virgina and Tennessee according to an article I read last year in The Wall Street journal a year ago. Small change, a million a year compared to the drug business but it hasn’t hurt the booze industry any. So am I to assume you’re a Prohibitionist?
To compare 19th. century China’s opium problem to 21st America drug problem is a poor analogy. People such as yourself just refuse to see how much of a failure the war on drugs has been. Are we to go on fighting this war for another hundred years? It’s insanity. To keep banging away at something expecting the outcome to be positive and in the end nothing changes.
Cookson Hills mean anything to you?
A Christian ministry. Ok,so? Does AA mean mean anything to you? I’m a recovering alcoholic and drug addict sober for twenty-four years and I still feel marijuana should be legalized.
Go read the 4th and get back to us.
I suppose for sake of arguing that you are inferring that state govt is not govt of the people
I’m done
