You're right on this - the MSM often wants to pretend they're 'fair to both sides' so they gently trash democrats well before an election (long before it could hurt them)... Almost as if they're helping democrats get unpleasant things 'out of the way' so they can be called 'old news'.
That said, I don't think firing Jill Abramson was within that typical 'liberal suck-up' dance... she really was starting to see Obama and dems with open eyes. I believe that's why she was fired.
