That’s a fair question. Obviously, Latinos are persons from or descended from: Most of Italy, especially Lazio (Latium); Pontine Islands; Sicily, Corsica, Capri, etc.; Romania; Spain; France, but excluding the Alsace region; Portugal; Dominican Republic; Cuba; Puerto Rico; South America generally but excluding Germanic and Indian persons; Central America generally; Mexico generally but excluding Germanic and Indian persons; North Central New Jersey; the Philippines generally but excluding Maori and other indigenous persons. Also, some (now elderly) Francophone Vietnamese and Lebanese persons.

Sounds to me like this is a rather diverse bunch of people with nothing really in common other than language. It is a made-up word with no sensible definition.
