No, no missiles yet. They’re using rocks, molotovs, fireworks, burning tires. They don’t have the gun rights like in the US, but probably few guys here and there have a gun ready. Right now both sides negotiating. The government is playing stupid: “We didn’t use live ammunition” but everybody knows what happened.

Yeah, very disturbing with the international response. Russia, through its puppet Yanukovich, is trying to get control over Ukraine - and there’s almost no reaction. EU is useless, they’re afraid of Russians; Obama hasn’t said a word. The only friends Ukraine has are Poland and the Baltic states who know what to expect from Russians.

I wish I was the one to come up with this comparison, but in many ways this is similar to 1938 when world powers surrendered Chechoslovakia to Hitler. They thought Hitler would be happy with it, but he didn’t stop. Russia will not stop if it swallows Ukraine, next will be the Baltic states, then Poland

It’s a little quiet today but they continue to exert pressure on the demonstrators, ex. they’re making statements that everybody making calls to overthrow the “constitutional order” (?!?) is facing 6 years.

Poles are a bit worried because some of these Ukrainian groups opposing the Russians also worship Stepan Bandera.

I don’t think Russia has the ability to hold onto Ukraine now. They have a hard enough time with the Muslims in their own country.

Russia had the loyalty of the people in the rest of the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact. They no longer have that. In the days of the Internet, it’s hard to keep things secret.

I hope you’re right.
Yet, Putin doesn’t need to control Ukraine directly, he can have his stooge Ya. running things. Uprising? why waste Russian soldiers, you can just send Ukrainian riot police.

As for the Internet, it’s still how how you manipulate the information.
So couple of days ago, when they had their first deaths, the government channel hasn’t mentioned them at all. Instead they had an expert who was telling how bad for the environment it is that the protesters are burning tires. You have three human beings who have lost their lives, gone and this vomit is talking about air pollution.
Or yesterday, with the footage of the police parading a beaten protester nude - their talking point today is, the man wanted to set himself on fire, that’s why they had to take his clothes off. Makes sense, right? and the injuries on his face, hands and body - he slipped on ice. twice

“you can just send Ukrainian riot police.”

Because ultimately they can’t be trusted.

LOL. Molotovs, burning tires are used against the police and you are complaining about live ammo?
“three people killed by gbmnt”? At least one of them has fallen to his death while climbing on the wall and I’d like to see an autopsy for the rest. A lot of thugs with handguns are seen in pictures among “peaceful protesters”.

Autopsies have already been done on three. One had a 7.62 mm sniper shot, second one 9mm. But that’s ok, Azarov said they don’t use those ones.

Third one was beaten to death

” One well-known activist, Yuri Verbitsky, was found dead in the woods outside the capital. He and a colleague, Igor Lutsenko, had been taken to the woods from a Kiev hospital as part of a broader action in which police and plain-clothed thugs rounded up wounded rioters. Lutsenko, who says he was severely beaten, made his way back to the city. Police say Verbitsky died from exposure, not from the obvious injuries found on his body...”

“(you criticize the government, you’re an “extremist”, 6 year prison term for you)”

NY’s Cuomo is 2 for 3 and well on his way.
