Gov. Scott Walker used his election-year State of the State address Wednesday to rally support for his plans to use the majority of Wisconsins $912 million in unexpected revenue for tax cuts.
What do you do with a surplus? he said. Give it back to the people who earned it. Its your money.
He said he would call a special session of the Legislature to consider his income and property tax cut package part of a broader fiscal plan called A Blueprint for Prosperity which would save average Wisconsin families about $150 this year.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, said there is support among Assembly Republicans for Walkers proposal and it will likely be the first bill his chamber takes up when it convenes Feb. 11. The package, however, faces some opposition from Republicans in the Senate. I dont have 17 votes for anything right now, said Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau.
Much of the tax cut plan was detailed by Walker to reporters Tuesday, but the speech was the first time Walker disclosed it directly to voters.

Uniparty.
It should go back in proportion to those that paid it in.
Can you give it to us down here in Illinois? Quinn and Rahm have some bills to pay.
.
Scott Walker rocks; I read his book “Unintimidated” and will work for him to be our next President.
I would oppose it, too. The money should be used to pay down the state’s outstanding debts. Once those debts are eliminated then cut the taxes back to a sustainable level and move on from there.
Works for me.
I’m liking him too. I wish he were given the job of responding to the State of the Union instead of showcasing female conservatives we should showcase successful conservative governors.
Instead of actually giving a State of the Union response ... which always seems lame no matter what party gives it, perhaps our respondent should look at the camera and merely start telling us what conservatives are going to do when Obama is gone. That will turn a few heads and spin Obama in the dirty news cycle it would create.
I presented an incentive plan that I developed for the private sector that really worked both for the owners and the employees. I modified it a bit for the public sector where the employees, manageres, and taxpayers would benifit from more efficient operations.
Politicans hated it.
Give 30% to State mangers & employees, 30% to taxpayers in the form of a credit on next years taxes, and the balance to reduce debt. Say when Debt gone then 40% to State a,d 40% to taxpayers, balance for future capital improvemts.
some female libtard state sen. called this “full of sh1t’.
he needs to get off the amnesty bandwagon for me to want that.
Walker clarified his stance on illegals in an interview with Breitbart. I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Jesse Ventura did it in Minnesota...
this is him wiggling a bit. what he basically said before was that anyone wanting to work here should be able to come here. i say since when has that been an automatic qualifier to become a citizen? these people do not assimilate into the culture, they balkanize, and send money out of the country to their home country they are still loyal to.
From a business aspect, it is not always a good idea to strive for zero debt. Using money to build capacity - job training, etc. - is better in the long run as long as the debt is reasonable and manageable.
Me too. We have a cadre of folks who will vilify any conservative who doesn't have enough spittle flying from his lips while denouncing/speaking on the 3 "litmus tests" of illegals/homo weddings/abortions.
While I think all are valid goals to to deter, they are distractions that assist the Left. If we don't get folks who are willing to nudge us in the right direction, all is lost. If we start electing folks who are concerned with reining in the government's war on the Constitution/Freedom of the People, these issues will resolve themselves. Too many seem to believe that resolving these issues will prevent the continuing tyranny - I believe we can stop the tyranny and it will then allow us to settle the issues. The Dims love that our side is so focused on symptoms of fascism rather than the causes of it.
