Wonder why he didn't say anything like that during the long mayoral campaign. Don't expect a leftist like Comrade DeBlasio to have any heartfelt love or appreciation for Israel nor for Jewish interests in general. Seems like this story may have been distorted by "Capital New York" (whatever the heck that is) and left-leaning Ha'aretz in Israel for propaganda purposes.

I agree with you on that, except that the once great majority of Jewish votes for the most vile of Israel haters (i.e., the doctrinaire lefties, or, with few exceptions, the Demonrats) is gradually shrinking. There will come a time when that great majority won't be a majority at all - if we still have free and fair elections in the US, that is.

It’s demographics. Jews are either getting more religious or assimilating ‘til they no longer regard themselves as Jewish. Those who are more religious have more kids and move further right. So time is on the side of common sense.
