I’m a bit confused. I’ve always had to pay a membership fee to Sam’s Club.

Do you have a workaround for that?

My bad. I was referring to Walmart, the parent company of Sam's.

Why consumers choose to pay that $55 I don't know. I won't.

Me neither. I refuse to shop anywhere where I have to pay them for the privilege of them taking my money at check out. Add a couple of cents to the price of their merchandize and call it even.

Like I said a week ago, I use to work part time at the Walmart in the Dells. Always busy. Anyways friends of mine that still work there said as workers leave they are not being replaced. Not hiring and not giving more hours to those employed. Sounds bad. That’s always been the “go to” job around here.

So much for being an “associate”, “partner” or “team member”!

This MAY sound like I’m whining, but these are the FACTS of the situation for me. Trying to figure this all out in the next 60 days!

My hands are tied for hiring. I’m now expected to run the place with a lot of ‘seasonal’ part-timers that won’t be up to par with the rest of my staff. Our customers CHOOSE to shop with us because we know our stuff! I’m anticipating issues and trying to think of ways to head that off. How can you train someone in skills that are needed in about 2 weeks? I can’t hire much before the busy season, either. *Rolleyes*

I’m literally going to keep a list of customer complaints this busy season to send to my Higher Ups to see if that does any good. *SHRUG* When it starts costing them $$$ and their reputation, only THEN do I anticipate them sitting up and listening.

29 hours a week for all but 3 full-time staff (used to run the store with 5 full-time staff.) No more than 1,000 hours total for anyone for the entire year. That’s 19 hours a week. Who the heck is going to work for those few hours at a few bucks above minimum wage? Unemployment pays more!

Grrrrr!

Meh. It’s just a job. This one basically found me; I can do other things with my time if it comes down to it. :)
