I think the ones with IPA are good against Noro. No?

Live it up man.

Be interested

Be curious

Be fairly oblivious to others rules about conformity

If you ain’t breaking natural law, you can have fun without any fear from your conscience

Now go enjoy yourself....

"I think the ones with IPA are good against Noro. No?"

It's been a while since I read about sanitizers and Noro, so I did a little research.

According to what I read, the Norovirus is not killed by the ethyl alcohol sanitizers (Purell, Germ-X, etc.) because the glycerin in said products serves to protect the virus.

A couple of sources DID say that plain isopropyl alcohol will kill Norovirus, while others said that it will not.

Benzalkonium chloride and benzethonium chloride will do the trick, if you can find a sanitizer containing one of those ingredients. Also, a site called www.stopthestomachflu.com lists some specialized Noro-killing products.

Do you think maybe we should nuke it from orbit, just to be sure? It’s distressing to hear Purelle isn’t cutting the mustard....

Yeah, I guess I’m going to have to just wash my hands until the skin starts to fall off. I do not want that virus in my house.

But if you want to ready the missiles, I’ll get the briefcase with the code...

Food handling and kitchens on board cruise ships are not inspected by any agency. It is not surprising that we've observed outbreak after outbreak.

This is certainly news to me.
Are inspections mandatory ? it’s hard to tell from their web page which refers toCDC’s “assists cruise lines....”

What do cruise ships have these major outbreaks of illness?

They're germ factories. So many people touch the same surfaces, a lot of the venues are really crowded for the ventilation, and a ship has a lot of dampness and corners that collect dirt. The gym equipment, pools, hot tubs and lawn chairs are probably best to be used early in the day.

A cruise I was on two years ago had a norovirus threat, but they kept it under control. It involved a lot of rules like hand sanitizers, no self-serve food, washing surfaces and quarantining people with symptoms.

I would cruise again; it's my favorite way to travel. But I'll always use public facilites early in the day and avoid crowds.

They are mandatory for ships in US ports. They have the power to close down dining venues.

“Assists” is a euphemism.

There are similar inspections in other countries.

Every cruise ship I’ve been on has been cleaner and healthier than a typical US restaurant.

I can’t help but think of them as giant, floating petri dishes.
