Leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean began arriving in Cuba on Sunday for a summit of a fledgling regional bloc that was conceived as a force for integration and a counterbalance to their most powerful neighbor, the United States.

The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, or CELAC for its initials in Spanish, was formed in 2011 and comprises every nation in the Western Hemisphere except the U.S. and Canada.

By Sunday, Presidents Cristina Fernandez of Argentina, Evo Morales of Bolivia and Dilma Rousseff of Brazil and several foreign ministers were already in Havana for the meeting. […]

“From this summit will emerge more social policies for the liberation of our peoples,” Morales said at Havana’s international airport. …

Of course, “integration“ = imperialism. They want to all join together in a big empire to “counterbalance” the USA, the biggest enemy of world communism.

The good news is their policies will create even more poverty and inequality.

I believe Rush has made the case many times, that you could give everyone $1 million dollars to start, and in ten years you would still have massive income equality. I agree with the concept.

The cream will always rise to the top folks.

The real improvement would be doing away with the U. N. and other race and economic inequality baiters, many of whom have never held a private sector job in their lives.

Isn't that what they've been focusing on for the last 50 years?

Seems to me like they've got it down pat.

What a coincidence, we have a Pres__ent that wants the same thing, a poorer working class and more privileged ruling class for America.

inequality - their new dog whistle to all the perpetually offended gibsmedats. Anything to get the drones to believe they are somehow more free when they are allowing shackles to be put on their neighbors despite the idea it may be them next.

How naive, how very intellectual of them.

Obviously that is true, because they still have lots of poverty and inequity, after 50 some years of communism. Communism creates two things, hunger and refugees.

Proven by many lottery winners who blow through their winnings in months and are back where they started.

Well color me RED. Already the economies of Bolivia, Venezuela and even some of Brazil are suffering from the marxists, with Kirchner of Argentina trying to become a mini-Marxist Peronista clown.

Don’t know how Ecuador is doing, nor Uruguay where a Monteneros terrorist supporter is now the president. We’ll know when the next wave if political refugees hit our shores.
