Good for you Snowden.

You revealed the unconstitutional actions of the NSA and (unlike that twat Manning) you’ve been careful about what you’ve revealed.

You’re a Hero. Without you, we wouldn’t know about PRISM, XKeyscore or Tempora.

You risked your life and liberty to reveal the chains that the Fed have been wrapping around the American people.

I wish the drip, drip would stop and just get it over with— get it all on the table.

I disagree. That would let the media sweep it all under the rug once and for all. With the constant drip, they have to cover for the administration constantly.

Look at Russell Tice, he has almost the same stuff as Snowden but apparently didn’t take any files and didn’t do the big drama of leaving the country

Of course Snowden didn't stay in the country like Tice did. Did you hear how the FBI rewarded Tice for going through all the proper channels? The did a paramilitary style raid on his home at 4:30am, dragged him naked out of the shower and held him and his family at the business end of sub machine guns. There is a word for people people who see that happen and don't take measures to get out of fedgov's reach before blowing the whistle: retarded.

“Who are “they who all look alike?” I would never make that statement.”

I was referring to Muzzies! Doubt that JJ or Rev. Al would conduct a “rally” for those folks. Glad you’re wherever it is that makes you happy. I am just glad there are still folks (like FR) who see value in staying here and fighting to return the state to it’s rightful place. I just wonder where we would be today if everyone back in 1775 decided it was too much trouble to fight the British, and “moved” to Mexico or Canada to avoid the necessary conflict. Sure seems to me that our genetics have been degraded, but then maybe “it’s for your children!” The “I’d rather switch than fight crowd” here in this country today is shameful in my opinion. Where you gonna run to when they come for you?

“So why didn’t we just use that profile after 9/11 and forget all this NSA mass intercept business?”

I don’t know! As you point out being PC trumps our safety. My son-in-law’s mother was born in an Internment Camp during WWII. And they lost pretty much everything as a result. But they did come back after the war and build a successful business in California. Even they understand why it was done and as bad as it was, it was necessary for our safety. Today, in the face of the obvious fact that the Muzzies are using our own laws against us, we sit around with our fingers up our you know what’s and let them get away with it. I want to puke every time I read how “most Muzzies” are wonderful, peace-loving people when everything in the Koran says otherwise.
Perhaps the saddest thing is the precious human losses we have suffered in the ME. And now with Mr. Cut and Run Muzzie in the White Hut, all those deaths will eventually be for nothing.

The response to 9/11 was completely misdirected, at enormous human and financial cost. Militarily, the U.S. went after the wrong people, a secular thug in Iraq, one of many in the world, instead of the Saudi theocracy. Homeland Security is just an excuse for a bureaucratic expansion of government powers. Instead of targeting the root causes, the Patriot Act and the NSA was unleashed against the constitutional rights of everyone.

Edward Snowden alerted us to the abuse, but not the causes. Bureaucracies will always abuse the privilege if given the opportunity, and we gave them a gaping opportunity. This privacy issue was always there, but only became a top-level problem when 9/11 opened the door to massive government intervention because we were afraid to face the truth about Islam. The reason was not the advance of computer technology; that is a cop-out argument.

Excellent analysis! Bush is only a good president by comparison to his predecessor and successor! I will never be able to forgive him for Iraq, and Afghanistan. All you had to do is look at where the Russians ended up to know that “democratizing” these two $hit holes was a fools mission, to say nothing about the waste of human as well as financial treasure. And you are also spot on about the Saudis. We should have dropped a bomb on them years ago. They are a state sponsor of terrorism of the first order. And I’d vote to take out Mecca and Medina while we are at it!

....”There’s a whole big network of them. That’s what I’m starting to think, anyhow.”.....

Sure there are, Assange’s Group was behind Snowden long before Guardian announced they had the story. Assange had lost alot of his following after being held up in the Embassy. Plus revenues were falling off substantially. He needed to be front page and rally his base group. Snowden certainly helped Assange’s profile and regained his revenue sources.

Snowden is not doing this on his own...you can be sure he’s being coached and led and this by more than just Assange’s Group.

He didn’t actually go to Russia — The US government stranded him there on the way to Ecuador.

The drip drip drip needs to keep going to re-focus attention on the abuses. If it's all laid out at once, it will be a story for 24 hours and then everybody will shift gears to Justin Bieber or some such foolishness.
