Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said it was not an "exaggeration" to say America would be committing "national suicide" if it does not pass amnesty legislation.

“Our current immigration laws are national suicide,” Bloomberg said on Friday at an immigration summit in Washington. “I don’t think that’s an exaggeration.”

All this false urgency to pass “immigration reform”. I would be supportive of immigration reform if it meant that we would enforce current immigration rules, but the immigration reform touted by Bloomberg and others is nothing more than a way for elites to get cheap labor and/or to ensure a loyal voting block. Neither of these goals helps the long term health of this republic.

Another 50+ million people (the number aborted) would have done a lot to fill the need for labor and stimulate the economy.

Need for labor? We have 20 million Americans underemployed or unemployed. We have a shortage of jobs, not labor. And who uses abortion the most? Blacks and Hispanics. And which groups have the highest unemployment rates? Blacks and Hispanics. And which groups use the welfare system the most? Blacks and Hispanics. And which groups have the highest birth rates? Blacks and Hispanics.

I don't support abortion, but it would be a mistake to say that these additional 50 million people would be an unalloyed good for the economy or jobs.

I think we need to explore other remedies to our low birth rates.

Our fertility rate is 2.06 children born/woman (2013 est.), which is just about at replacement level. This places us 121st in the world, but only Israel (2.65) and France (2.08) have higher rates among the developed countries and most of that is due to the Muslim birthrates. New Zealand has the same rate as the US.

The nation’s total population would cross the 400 million mark in 2051, reaching 420.3 million in 2060. Our current population is 317 million. Below is a breakdown by race and ethnicity (2012 and 2060):

Amnesty is national suicide and it can save us from suicide. Double edge sword. Our birth rate is below what is needs to be to sustain growth, so more immigrants are needed to offset. Yes, I get that it is suicide, due to the watering down of America. On the good side, I’d be willing to bet that most of the immigrants would be harder working that the 47% that are on the govt assistance. Bring in tens of millions of MORE workers that will vote Democrat.
