Closest U.S. Ally in Asia Caves to Muslim Radicals After Massacre- Grants Amnesty

On September 9, 2013, a radical Islamic extremist group known as the Moro National Liberation Front, whose territory is on the northern portion of the Southern most Island in the Philippines, Mindanao, stormed the municipal capital in the city of Zamoanga and raised their flag at city hall. They were proclaiming ownership of the city, which they’d decided, themselves, that they would now own back on August 12 of 2013.

As you might imagine, the Philippine Government did not take kindly to the radicals proclaiming the city to be theirs and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) were sent in. What resulted was a standoff which lasted 19 days and saw the displacement of more than 100,000 civilians who were driven from their homes, neighborhood by neighborhood, as the terrorists marched through reeking havoc, and the deaths of several civilians and terrorists. An already struggling third world economy within the city was brought to a standstill and the airport was closed.

In the end, the terrorists were allowed to retreat, though some were taken into custody, and the AFP and PNP went their separate ways, and the citizens returned to a further disabled city, both physically and prosperity wise.

This is not new for the Mindanao region of the Philippines. Several radical Islamic groups possess territory on the astoundingly beautiful island inhabited by some of the friendliest people in the world. However, due to the radical Islamic presence, the portion of the country suffers more corruption, poverty and conflict than the rest of the country, which is saying a lot as the entire country suffers enough from these issues.

Many would say that the main problem is the Philippine Government’s seeming desire to negotiate with the terrorists more so than to simply eradicate

The Phillipines is no different in many ways than any other nation, and unique in many more.

How strong could abbu sayeff be if the Philippines was armed ?

THAT, I think is the problem

Abbu Sayeff works (as all cowardly, satanic muzzies do) by using fear to control and dominate their prospective victims

There is a GREAT national pride among the Filipino's and I personally believe an armed citizenry would be an advantage to diseminating corruption and quelling uprisings.

When you are the “friendliest people in the world”, you make yourselves a target for the radicals who know that they will have an easy go of it. That’s exactly why we need the right to bear arms ourselves and not to have those rights taken away.

I just can’t understand the mindwarp the anti-gunners are in when they think that “we all can just get along if we’ll just give up our guns”. There are evil people out there who will exert their power and control over us if they’re not held in check. And today, those who would do so are the ones in charge of our government.

ONLY if you proofread...

I ‘sware(sic)’ it has changed a There to Their or vice versa on me BUT then again it didn’t correct sware so....

I do know that I have referred to GHW Bush and his push for NWO and my completed text would read GHW Bush was an early backer of NOW (which also may be true) BUT I never would have written that, so that leaves me to believe that Spell Check was ‘doing its thing’.

Nice .. I remember my visit from 2010 and dream/fantasize daily ... these days

I'm hoping for a year, but America is gearing up (IMO) to put a hammer down on outgoing ex patriation. (just my opinion)

The first step in that process was to withdraw from issue the .38 caliber (double action?) revolvers then in use and replace them with Colt Single-Action Army 1873 .45's that had been in storage. My understanding is that the Moros would tie strips of cloth very tightly around their arms as legs, almost to the point of cutting off circulation, like a tourniquet, before battle. That way, if they were hit in the arm or leg, they wouldn't bleed out. It would take a hit to the central nervous system to take them completely out of action. Modern non-Genevea-approved bullets are far more effective, but for defense of self and family I'm still more comfortable with a round that starts with a "4" rather than a "3" (which would include the 9mm).

Having been born a few years after that insurrection (in spite of what my children believe), I have only read accounts of the action.

Correct about tying the strips of cloth.but I'm pretty sure they also use some type of drug..mild hallucinogenic..possibly something like kat..

There were confirmed reports of US troops injured/killed by machete wielding Moros AFTER they'd been shot several times..hence the .45

Agree with your post. Sometimes, I am guilty of thinnking that IK've written down a point (like yours on the Moros still being combat-effective after multiple .38 rounds), and then pass right over the ommission when I'm proof-reading. I'm sure there's some reason for that, other than age. ;-)

Well, when posting from my kindle “autocorrect” is my mortal enemy! some of the things it comes up with boggles the mind. If you want a good laugh, go to the icanhascheezburger website and lookup the “autocowrecks” page. Good stuff there.
