I’ve talked to him before when he was RNC chair and G.W.Bush was running for reelection.

I was having trouble with a Republican state lawmaker blocking a bill I wanted to get passed, one which I felt would help Bush in the state elections.

I wasn’t all that nice, and...let’s say...talking loud.

He was really nice and said he would see what he could do to help.

The next day that lawmaker changed his vote and the bill passed.

A couple days later he was asked by the media why he had changed his mind about something he had been blocking for months.

His reply...Maybe I got a call from the President.

That is a 100% true story. BTW...the state was MI.

IMO I would be very happy having Ed Gillespie as my Senator.

You’ve had your experience with him and I’ve had mine...

We’ll just have to disagree on this.

Our country needs to do a 180 and guys like Ed Gillespie won’t get us there.

Policy in Washington, as exemplified by the Ryan-Murray budget deal, is about raising new taxes and cutting spending including spending on military pensions and extended unemployment simultaneously.

Gillespie will participate in more such deals in the future featuring more new taxes and more cuts aimed at dealing with the huge debt and credit rating of the United States.

We need a fundamental reform of government to quickly balance our budget, not these austerity band aids.

On the other hand, Ted Cruz or Rand Paul or Sarah Palin desire to move this country in the direction of less government and more freedom.
