Maybe the GOP should start buying votes like the Democrats do. The Democrats give women birth control pills and get the women vote. Give the pot heads a sack of weed and tell them to vote Republican. I am halfway serious.
Since the price of weed in Colorado has gone up 400%... maybe not.
This whole marijuana legalization (or de facto legalization) thing is about getting votes for the Dems, either from the young slacker leftists who otherwise would be too lazy to go vote, or from the Libertarians, who might otherwise vote GOP or vote for some candidate of their own.
Florida is actually a pretty lousy state to try this in. For most parents going to a pot friendly state puts Disneyworld a notch or two down on the list of places to vacation.
There are parts of the country where the payback is probably even or better on a straight financial basis. Colorado might be one of those states. Florida isn’t.
I don’t often make common cause with the Mouse, but my bet is that he will do what he can to stop it.
