Former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin defended her 2008 running mate Sen. John McCain Monday, after the Arizona Republican Party censured the Senator, saying he was not conservative enough.
In a Facebook post Monday night, Palin touted McCains national security bona fides and his role in the investigation into Benghazi. She said that while she did not agree with him on everything, Republicans should all stand on the same side against the Obama administration.

Her Facebook post:
On this day in 1973 the Paris Peace Accords were signed. Although controversial, this treaty resulted in the release of our American POWs in Vietnam. Among them was John McCain. Our courageous POWs had endured unimaginable punishment at the hands of enemy captors in their sacrificial service to country. Our appreciation for them cannot be adequately articulated.
So many of these vets and POWs ha...ve continued to serve our country in private life. Theyre still fighting for America and showing their love of country in all they do. Some like Congressman Sam Johnson of Texas and Senator John McCain serve us in the halls of Congress today.
I consider Senator John McCain an American hero and a friend. He fights to remind our President that the federal governments first priority must be strong defense of our homeland, and, like Congressman Johnson, he fights against big-spending colleagues who dont prioritize for our militarys needs. Upon the Senators shoulders hes carried part of our message of opposition to todays fundamental transformation of America directly to the problem: President Obama and Harry Reids far left agenda.
I appreciate Senator McCain's steadfastness in demanding truth in the White Houses Benghazi cover-up. Because of his persistence we WILL get that truth, and then more eyes will be open to see how dangerous an Obama-led retreating America is in this volatile world.
It goes without saying we dont all agree on all political issues. For instance, I shall keep pushing to open ANWR, I oppose letting illegal aliens cut in line and receive American benefits via immigration reform, and I oppose any Congressional action that allows President Obama to incur more U.S. debt. During this time of dangerous lawlessness in the executive branch, those who agree on stopping the intended transformation of our country had better unite to fight. So at this time, it's perplexing to see Senator McCains good efforts to uncover the Obama agenda being ignored and perhaps even hindered now by those wanting to censure the Arizona Senator. Despite our differences on some other issues, there is no questioning Senator McCains dedication to national security in spite of the White Houses agenda.
We live in a time of diminishing virtues because of societal influence towards total self-centeredness. This is unfortunate and makes raising families, conducting business, and governing that much more challenging. I know how important the virtue of loyalty is because in politics its pretty much nonexistent. I stand on that most important virtue and answer those asking today: Yes, I am proud to have been asked to run with him in 2008, and he is my friend.
One more thing, if you've met his beautiful mother you know where he gets his tenacity. Roberta McCain is one tough Mama Grizzly.
- Sarah Palin
Palin is done.
It’s a flaw she has
In his own way McCain is more damaging to conservative values than is Obama, and is a symptom of what is wrong with the way this country selects elevates and endlessly reelects political leaders, not what is right
Sarah, he’s not your Dad and he’s not our Dad and there are hundreds of thousands of valorous military vets more qualified by honor and principle to be a US Senator
Her fatal flaw...the McCain blind spot.
No true conservative will support McCain.
I have said it before on FR and I will say it again, Palin is a self-promoting phony. She hides behind facebook posts and twitter tweets. Got to gin up controversy to sell books and drive up appearance fees. Going on Hannity for puffball interviews is a joke.
Sarah..
Whatever batch of Kool-aid McCain has given you, it must be some string stuff. Put the cup down, please.
string=strong
McCain meets with Soros. Can’t abide that.
She details her disagreements but also remains loyal as a friend. Essentially, she says she will work with him on where they CAN agree. I see nothing wrong with that sentiment.
Not every man is an angel, and not every man is a devil.
there are friends, and there are enablers
just because McCain was kind about her pregnant daughter is no good excuse to campaign for him to be reelected
Way past time for John to stop running on a 40 year old war episode, get off the political stage, stop attacking others in his own party and stop trotting himself off on adventure travel to schmooze and romanticize meeting with savages masquerading as freedom fighters. Four years ago he was shaking hands with Qadaffi. Now he has sympathetic ties with the human liver-eaters in Syria and is willing to send your son or daughter to fight and die for their cause, hamdu l’ allah
He is a nasty nutty piece ego-ridden piece of work
with all due respect
I know, and I think Sarah did a good job detailing some specific disagreements.
Bm for later....this thread should bring out the PDS....
The Palin brigade will have a tough time esplainin this.
Its over, Sarah Palin fans...she ain’t a conservative. Palin supports Amnesty Liberals
To think folks sabotaged Todd Palin with a rape comment...which he apologized for...but go cult like over Palin as she continues to support Amnesty Liberals
Maybe Palin wants that Soros money, too...hey McCain knows Soros
Note that should be Todd Akin....
Agreed.
Political ‘loyalty’ despite political positions is another word for the good old boy network when you and your political ‘friends’ are the good old boys.
Totally agree. I loved Palin until I realized, she will never run! She dangled it in our faces but just did it for the money it seemed.
I also always said she needed to put McCain in his RINO place and now this. A RINO is a RINO. Call him out.
Now, Jan Brewer, that is a WONDERFUL lady!
Palin is pushing Juan to investigate the Bengahzi betrayl and coverup.
Here’s praying Juan bangs his head and regains some common sense
