Obama to lay out go-it-alone approach in big speech (Announcement of his coup-d'etat)

President Barack Obama will lay out a strategy for getting around a divided Congress and boosting middle-class prosperity on Tuesday in a State of the Union speech that reflects some scaled-back legislative ambitions after a difficult year.

Obama will make clear in his 9 p.m. EST address that he is willing to bypass U.S. lawmakers and go it alone in some areas by announcing a series of executive actions that do not require congressional approval.

White House officials said Obama will announce new executive actions on retirement security and job training to help middle-class workers expand economic opportunity.

"In this year of action, the president will seek out as many opportunities as possible to work with Congress in a bipartisan way. But when American jobs and livelihoods depend on getting something done, he will not wait for Congress," Obama senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said in an email to supporters sketching out the themes of the speech.

With three years left in office, Obama has effectively reduced for now his ambitions for grand legislative actions.

Isn't this plan he has the modern version of taxation without representation? We the people voted FOR our representatives to Stop the wave of his dysfunctional agenda and actually Want Gridlock.

If he bypasses this he effectively nullifies our represented democratic vote and invokes himself as the New King George.

They take our taxes and property and deny us our vote.

That's his solution to things, reassert himself as a Royal Sovereign and put is our place as subjects of his Crown.

Obama has that punk attitude that you can never go too far, but this isn't going to go well for anyone if his threat to assume the position of King is followed thru.

“If we are to restore freedom, our only hope is to reduce focus on national elections and direct more efforts toward our states.”

State and local political offices are where the real power lies. If conservatives control the majority of states and local offices that will act as a checkmate against the fascist federal government. That’s how the Founders fought the tyranny of King George. A thousand brushfires can be set. The federal fascists don’t have the manpower or logistics to extinguish them.

For some reason, though, that strategy completely flies over the heads of most conservatives. The Founders left a blueprint on how to fight tyrants. It starts with organization, local control and Committees of Safety.

Obama's administration has shown hatred and contempt for the middle class. So the above comment is a lie - like almost everything else he says...

Everything he says is a lie. Including “and,” “but,” and “the. “

You said...
“The Clown’s numbers indicate he is not popular with the masses....His announcement that he wants to rule by dictate will only hurt him and his party (read “Hitlery”) in the long (and short) run.

He is doing this because his ideology is failing....He counted on the economy being better no matter how much he plundered from the private sector. That isn’t happening, Americans KNOW he is failing, and he refuses to acknowledge the truth.

His grasps for fascist leader-like power is desperation. Heck, did you see that poll on Obamacare? 30%.of DEMOCRATS in that poll want it repealed.”

Agree with everything you typed. What we will see tonight is nothing but pure panic and desperation. He is going to get much worse but in doing so, he will expose more and more of his ugliness to the public.

I worry what he might do if he decides we are not worthy of his “leadership”

And where does Obama get the MONEY for these Executive Action programs? If Congress doesn’t approve then no bucks for his projects.

I would not worry the SOTU is likely to be the least watched show on TV tonight.

Yep, the framers feared tyranny. We are beyond tyranny and have become a police state. Obama's surveillance abilities are the stuff of Stasi dreams.

Only the hollow shell, the outward form of our republic remains. Both the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire had a Senate. In the republic the Senate was lawgiver, while in the empire it was the emperor's rubber stamp.

Dingy Harry's senate is just that. It exists to condone Obama, to give the aura of legitimacy to Obama's diktats.

So yes, we must go around our oppressors in DC, and get our state legislators to do their duty.

May I remind you that many Freepers here did the same thing and got Barry elected a second term?

Nonsense. The conservatives who never vote GOP found reasons to not vote for Romney. Most here were all in to remove the kenyan and voted for Romney. This is the thanks we got from the beltway GOP for our support: Sequester busted immediately, vet retirement pay cut, no action on the IRS, pimping amnesty, etc., etc.

What got the kenyan a second term was Romney running a lousy campaign but progressive Republicans will never admit that. What will get the Dems control of the House again will be another bungled campaign by the GOP. Got it?

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05) will deliver the Republican Address to the Nation. She will show the nation the Republicans have no war on women, which will be the siren call by the Hildebeast when she runs for President. Rodgers will be fantastic.

Rodgers has been the highest ranking female GOPer for several years. She has been nearly invisible on the national stage during these historic times. Leaders like her who won’t lead are why the GOP is losing now.

Not voting is how we got the DICKTATOR AGAIN!! Purists are not lifting a hand to stop the DESTRUCTION and TAKEOVER of America......THANKS, Purists.

Stop blaming conservatives for what Democrats and progressive Republicans do.

The problem with the GOP right now is progressive Republicans pushing a liberal agenda. No conservative forced Paul Ryan to cut vet pay. He chose to do it. Nobody forced the GOP to push amnesty. They are choosing to do that and many other destructive things. If those are the policies you support I suggest you join the Democratic Party.

If he does then if Bonehead doesn’t immediately stand up and take the floor back with a resolution of impeachment...well, we all know they are all in on it anyway.

I am officially a purist. I don’t care what the ramifications are I cannot stomach another hold my nose vote just to elect someone with an “R” behind their name.

A few Freepers is not “plenty”. Most of those posters here who stayed home gave up on the GOP a long time ago, anyway.

I know of no one in my personal circle that didn’t vote last time around. Friends, family, business associations. Nobody stayed home last year. We were all fired up to remove the kenyan.

He cannot make new laws.

He can if nobody stops him. Boehner is too busy with his wine and cigarettes, while Roberts is twisting the Constitution into a pretzel trying to affirm dear leader's mandates. Who is there, really, to stop him at this point?
