Great idea. Go one further and offer the surviving family members the option of pulling the trigger(s).
That was my first thought, as well. Make it an option, only one family member in the squad of five, do them all on Fridays at 9:00-10:00 PM, televise it, and have it sponsored by Remington, or somebody.
For some cases they probably could auction off the opportunity to shoot the convict.
