GM CEO Mary Barra To Sit With Michelle Obama At The State Of The Union

You know you've arrived not only when you get invited to the State of the Union address, but when you're asked to sit next to the first lady herself. That's where General Motors' new CEO, Mary Barra, will be sitting tonight.

Barra, the first woman to lead a major auto manufacturer, was one of the guests singled out to sit with First Lady Michelle Obama for "represent(ing) the stories of millions of Americans across the country, who are working hard to better their communities, improve their own economic outcomes and help restore opportunity for all" according to the White House.

Since every decision a president makes is politicized in some way, I'm sure this will be fodder for critics of Obama, his role in GM's bailout and what is perceived as a buddy-buddy relationship between the company and his administration. To be fair, the government has sold all its shares in GM, although it came at a loss of about $10 billion to taxpayers, and people are still rightfully feeling stung about that.

Barra, according to the Wall Street Journal, will be seated next to the first lady with several other distinguished guests, including 23-year-old student Cristian Avila, who was brought to the U.S. illegally when he was nine years old, and Antoinette Tuff, a bookkeeper credited with preventing a school shooting in Atlanta last year. Two survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing will also be seated with the first lady

I just purchased a new 2013 left over, F-150. There was no way that I was going to purchase a GM product.

Speaking of . Michelle Obama.Michelle’s pitch for fundraising comes as President Obama stumps for a return of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to the Speakership office in the House of Representatives. Obama’s entire second term is imperiled by the fact that Republicans have the upper hand in the House and Senate races in 2014. President Obama will reportedly use his State of the Union address to bash Congress and push the notion of vast swaths of executive action.
Here’s the text of Michelle’s letter:
Benjamin —
Earlier this month, because of what you did, it became illegal for insurance companies to discriminate against the up to 129 million Americans living with pre-existing conditions. Young Americans are able to stay on their parents’ health care plans as they get on their feet, and we can now know that our insurance companies won’t put lifetime caps on our coverage.
You should be so proud of that. That happened because you organized, you talked to your friends and neighbors, and you chipped in what you could, when you could, to elect Barack and a Congress who supported his agenda.
Today, I’m asking you to do it again.
So before Barack gives his State of the Union address tomorrow, chip in $10 or more and help protect Obamacare:

Thank you so much,
Michellehttp://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/01/27/Michelle-Obama-Letter-Fundraise

Hope Obama makes a case he wants us to send $ 10.00 to save Obamacare in his speech tonight
