Better than our cops:

1. USA - Brutality with no humor

2. P.I. - Brutality with jokes

Ah, Asia, old civilizations, old ideas, bad plumbing, corrupt governments, banking, military and land owners...and miserable weather.
THANK YOU, LORD, for allowing me to be born in the West, in the USA, where I am! Thank you.

The Philippine local police precincts are rife with criminality and control the drug market. I know this first hand.

They routinely kill innocent people who stand up to their thuggery and violence. Again, I know this first hand.

It’s not funny.

If you’re a street vendor and turn down an police extortion attempt in the Philippines and you could be dead in a week.

If you report it for sure you will be dead.

And this type of behavior goes up to the generals, who control the import and export of drugs - called Shabu. They network it through their contacts in the police precincts.

Oh, but yes, its such a friendly country (if they think you are a tourist with money).

Good thing they don’t have a “Chuck Woolery.” That would be a beating for 2 and 2.

Are you now in the Philippines? If not, when were you, where and for how long?

That’s all fine and dandy, and don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I was born in western Canada, but we need to sort these countries out or we’ll end up like these places in the world where we hear nasty stories coming out of.

I know so many liberal xenophiles who think southeast asia is just perfectly wonderful.

I can’t wait to drop this on them.

Folks that have spent any time in the PI or else where in Asia know things like this go on regularly. I always advise anyone thinking of moving there to spend at least 6 months to a year checking it out before pulling up stakes for good.

Another favorite tactic of the some of the local LE is to pick up a foreigner in the middle of the night and take them out to a beach and give them a shovel to start digging their grave. You negotiate the price to walk away as you dig. A fairly tense situation...

I’ve liked SE Asia since my Senior trip but most in this country are fooling themselves if they think they can live there permanently...
