Almost no one believed it was actually going to snow until it was too late. Then the schools and businesses tried to send eveyone home at the same time but the roads were already frozen. I passed yellow busses stranded on hills seven hours after they left the schools.

I have 3 kids in the atlanta area. One “left work” at 2 p.m. At 5 p.m. she was still in the parking deck unable to get out. Her husband drove to pick her up and had to park 2 miles away, walk to her, then walk her back. They finally got home at 3:30 a.m. (13.5 hours). She works at Perimeter and they live in Forsyth County.

Another daughter ran out of gas on 400. A good samaritan was out delivering gas (at no charge) to people who had run out.

I was on pins and needles all night.
