He is being arrested at the behest of the “Truth Commission” of the Ecuadorian Attorney General.

Basically, Ecuador, which has turned into a leftwing dictatorship, had US authorities seize this former general for “crimes against humanity.” They claim that he was involved in the torture of leftist prisoners before what was essentially a leftist take over of Ecuador.

It had been preceded by “labor actions” and leftwing violence throughout the country, and the General was involved in the army response to these disturbances and plots, although I highly doubt that he was involved in torture, as they claim, and in fact, I would be surprised if any official torture really happened. But Ecuador needs show trials to keep the people revved up, and in addition, they usually seize assets and thus get a little more money flowing into the empty government coffers.

The left is feeling very powerful, mostly because, seeing Obama’s example, they have realized that even economic failure and loss of liberties don’t seem to invalidate them with their faithful.

Made the mistake of thinking he could officially come here. Should have contacted friends here and hid out till Obama makes every illegal a citizen by fiat.
