Bill O'Reilly: GOP Should 'Wise Up' and Raise Minimum Wage

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly says the "pinheads" in the Republican Party should stop opposing the minimum wage.

"The Republican Party should really wise up and stop opposing raising the minimum wage. It should be 10 bucks an hour" to keep employers from exploiting workers, O'Reilly said Wednesday during his opening "Talking Points Memo" segment of his TV show.

O'Reilly said his proposed $10 an hour minimum wage would apply only to adults. Teenagers just beginning their careers should be paid on a lower scale, he said.

Sounds like what Benito Mussolini called for.

Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini was an Italian politician, journalist, and leader of the National Fascist Party, ruling the country as Prime Minister from 1922 until his ousting in 1943.

Fascist’s are government dictates what private industry does.

These “pro-minimum wage” pundits, probably have never had a business, never met a payroll and has a “tax-man” to figure their taxes.
When minimum wages are increased so everything else is increased too. The plastic to wrap ? in, the jar that ? is put in, the wages of the non-minimum wage earners, the gas to deliver ?, the tires for the truck, the produce to make ? which will be used to make ?. The list goes on. When we were in business, the minimum wage was increased. The plastic for our product went up 1.3%, we raised the wages of our non-minimum wage earners, gas prices went up, bread prices went up, as did mayonnaise, eggs, coffee was the same price, but the amount of coffee in a can was reduced, toilet paper inner rolls were made more flimsy, and the list goes on. Prices are adjusted according to the new minimum wages....so the minimum wage people have the same problems they did before the new minimum wage was put into law.

Actually, I think O'Reilly (like a stopped clock) may be right on this one. What better motivation is there for young worker to advance their career than the knowledge that a younger and lower cost worker will be pushing them out of their current position? I think that might be really good for the general work ethic.

I doubt, however, that O'Reilly had this benefit in mind.

True—They both are part of the Hegelian Dialectic. They *both* were allowed to flourish because of selling their soul to Satan. The Leftists need pretend “Right Wingers” for the dialectic and the move to totalitarianism and the complete irrationality of Marxist slavery to lure the masses.

There is no “Reason” in Homosexual anything (Reason is essential in Just Law)-—there is no Reason-—in killing human beings and denying the Natural Right of Life to babies or denying them the right of a biological father to raise them. Homosexuality is extremely sexist and unnatural and meaningless.

Satanic Evil is now so blatant, they don’t even try to *act* like they believe in God, and actually worship at the altar of Ba’al with a camera on them. Such insidious evil....they will rot in hell for “leading” people to the worldview of Satan.

And yet, from what I understand, his program is the highest-rated on the Fox News Cable Network. From what I read, the biggest supporters of Fox News are conservatives. Doesn’t compute since if this man is a conservative the woods are full of them.

Mark Wilson has a Cato Institute study about the impact of minimum wage ...The study lists other consequences of raising the minimum wage:

Increasing the likelihood and duration of unemployment for low-wage workers, particularly during economic downturns;

Encouraging employers to cut worker training;

Increasing job turnover;

Discouraging part-time work and reducing school attendance;

Driving workers into uncovered jobs, thus reducing wages in those sectors;

Encouraging employers to cut back on fringe benefits (that’s the substitution of capital for labor)

Encouraging employers to install labor saving devices;

Increasing inflationary pressure;

Increasing teenage crime rates as a result of higher unemployment; and

Encouraging employers to hire illegal aliens.

Wages now Age Based? Low wages for teens? SO the older Americans will be fired and lots of Teens hired to fill their jobs at low low pay—on their 20th Birthday they will be fired! This would help with teen unemployment! BUT remember, iflation is coming and soon no one will be earning $10.10 an hour because ten dollars will have the purchasing power of 25 cents. That Big Mac will cost you $25, the order of Frys, $10, etc... Soom we will all be millionaires! The Fifty dollar bill will be standard like the $20 bill is now. Then it will be the Hundred, and the five hundred dollar bill! It will be like Germany before Hitler. Then a new Hitler will rise to make the trains run on time.

Minimum wage is a joke to BOR . He makes millions of dollars per year and he can't relate to a small businessman trying to hold his business together through a downturn.

To him it's, "aw come on, give them the lousy ten bucks, it's nothing".

Turned off O Reilly many moons ago, then watched him last night when it was advertised that Hollywood Henderson was going to admit he did coke during the Super Bowl.

Right out of the gate, he sounds like that idiot Ed Schultz and goes on this kick with the min wage.

Had you heard him you would have thrown your shoe at the TV.

He had Kristin Powers agreeing with him and did not interrupt her once, NOT ONE TIME. When the conservative woman offered a sensible response, he shouted her down constantly. I mean constantly, kinda like the way Hannity does but worse.

For example, she tried to calmly explain to him that Bill Gates of all people Is against the min wage. He began to shout her down so you couldn’t hear her speak.

She fought back and said Gates says accurately, raising the minimum wage forces companies to automate those entering jobs. Therefore people are put out of work.

Then he does the perverbial, I’ll give you the last word, and when she gives it the pompous knucklehead cuts her off.

Hey, Bill why not have Dr Sowell on there to explain to you, in clear terms why the min wage hurts workers?

O Reilly did the same thing a few years back saying we needed to support Ethanol subsidies.

Look for his interview with Obama to be a complete joke and a tenth of what some guy like Russert would do with Obama. I’m sure Obama has all the questions ahead of time, and O Reilly is told to be kind.

Rumor that he’s going to MSNBC? I would love to see that. You have so many, much better journalists on Fox now that need a wider audience. This guy probably thinks he can go anywhere and people will tune in.

I don’t think so. THe guy shows me nothing. His books are written primarily by someone else, and he gets the credit.

He’s a showboat, who has the podium to get tough with people like Obama, but he won’t.

So to answer your question? No, there is no reason to watch this guy.

Sounds like a sound and viable economic plan. This O'Riley guy must be a Harvard grad with brilliance flowing this easily!

Did you ever listen to his radio show 10 yrs ago or so?
He constantly would talk about Lis Weil or E.D.Hill appearing in wet t-shirt contests.He became so obnoxious at times towards these women,I’d shout at the radio.
I stopped listening to him and watching his tv show.
