MSNBC Apologizes for Controversial Tweet About Conservatives and Cheerios
media bistro ^ | January 30, 2014 | Jordan Chariton

MSNBC’s official Twitter account deleted a tweet last night that suggested conservatives wouldn’t like a new Cheerios commercial featuring an interracial family set to air during the Super Bowl.

“Maybe the rightwing will hate it, but everyone else will go awww: the adorable new #Cheerios ad w/ biracial family,” read the tweet, which linked to an MSNBC.com story on the new ad.

Earlier, this account tweeted an offensive line about the new Cheerios ad. We deeply regret it. It does not reflect the position of msnbc.

I read the letter the RNC sent banning all staff and others from being on any MSNBC show.

We will see what happens.

I use a shunt in the circuit, to keep my B.S. meter from burning out, in such circumstances.

The apologies from liberal so-called media are getting old. It’s time to fight back. I am a Conservative and a Tea Party supporter. I also have bi-racial members of my family and they are Conservative. It’s time to expose MSNBC and others for what they are and squash this lie that Conservatives and Tea Party supporters are racists!

BTW, I love this commercial!

That commercial is already airing in my area.

I didn’t even NOTICE the races of the people in it until the third or fourth time I saw it, and even then I never gave it a second thought... until now.

My question is: Why do leftists CARE so much about such things?

Typical liberal nonsense. Spit out something defamatory about conservatives, wait for the backlash, and then apologize. The Left will love it because it takes a shot at conservatives plus they love people who apologize. And since the message it out and Americans for the most part have a short attention span, the damage has been done.

Excellent analysis! This is the leftist's game. A steady drumbeat of 'news' that portrays Republicans as racist, misogynists, elitist and generally terrible people who 'hate' the poor and anyone who isn't a rich WASP.

Unfortunately, the mostly apathetic and politically-obtuse American voter allows the meme to seep into their conscious thoughts and eventually believe the lies - and vote Democrat. One hopes the stark reality of what voting for the 'historic' candidate brings will wake people up, but I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

How deep does it have to get before the shunt kicks in?

I’ve got mine set for anything over knee-deep.

Leading the charge was conservative commentator Michelle Malkin, who posted a photo of her two biracial children on Twitter and launched the hashtag #MyRightWingBiracialFamily.

“Hey @msnbc jerks: This is #MyRightwingBiracialFamily. We love #cheerios. Enough with your race card crap,” Ms. Malkin said.

Richard Wolff, executive editor of MSNBC.com, and the network’s Twitter account posted separate mea culpas.

“The Cheerios tweet from @msnbc was dumb, offensive and we’ve taken it down. That’s not who we are at msnbc,” said Mr. Wolff on Twitter.

The left are the TRUE racists..they are the ones that support black babies being murdered in the womb..we Conservatives are the ones trying to save those babies while the left commits genocide on them every single day..when you see tweets like that it just exposes what I have known for a very long time, that it is the LEFT that are the racist ones..they despise blacks, they only use them for votes and throw some welfare and food stamps at them in hopes of securing their votes..the same network that trashed Mitt Romney for adopting a black child and had to apologize is now resorting to this BS..its disgusting
See that is the difference between the left and the right..the left sees EVERYTHING through race, I look at a person’s CHARACTER, NOT race

MSNBC’s Richard Wolffe Smears McCain as a Bigot: ‘There’s No Other Way to Look at It’

Former top Newsweek journalist and current MSNBC.com editor Richard Wolffe on Monday smeared Senator John McCain as a racist. According to Wolffe, there’s no legitimate reason for the Republican to oppose Susan Rice’s confirmation for Secretary of State. Appearing on Hardball, the journalist sneered that it was “outrageous” the way McCain was acting, raging against “this witch hunt going on the right about these people of color, let’s face it, around this president. Eric Holder, Valerie Jarrett, now Susan Rice.”

Such a charge seemed to shock even Chris Matthews. He sputtered, “McCain, who had his own daughter attacked, was accused of having an illegitimate child when, in fact, he adopted a young girl from South Asia. You’re saying that McCain’s being driven by racial prejudice here?”

Wolffe confirmed, “There is no other way to look at this...” Of course, McCain opposes Rice’s nomination because of her dissembling on the issue of the terrorist attack in Libya.

Yet, Wolffe hinted, “What is it about Susan Rice? And the answer is there aren’t any good foreign policy explanations for [opposition].”

ok, now who the heck in MSNBC management has access to the corporate twitter account?

Somebody at that network was responsible. Somebody initiated this and put it out there. That person works for MSNBC, thus, this represents the views of MSNBC.

prejudice = basing opinions on preconceived notions, prejudices can be wrong. Prejudices are hateful and wrong when they attribute bad attributes to groups of people in the absence of data.

For example, when 87 percent of Americans and 84 percent or more of whites, blacks and hispanics approve of interracial marriage (according to the Gallup Poll), you’d have to prejudiced and hateful to say any large group of Americans opposes interracial marriage.

Richard Wolffe makes fun of Palin for reading famous author of Christian works for ‘divine inspiration’

Wolffe: “I wouldn’t put down C.S. Lewis.”

MSNBC commentator Richard Wolffe made fun of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for reading author C.S. Lewis for “divine inspiration,” despite the fact that the acclaimed British academic and creator of childrens’ books was also a noted writer of works on Christianity.

Appearing on MSNBC’s “Hardball” with Chris Matthews, Wolffe expressed incredulity, noting that Lewis wrote “a series of kids’ books.”

Matthews interrupted Wolffe: “I wouldn’t put down C.S. Lewis.”
