anuary 28, 2014, 09:42 pm 'Climate change is a fact,' Obama declares

By Laura Barron-Lopez

President Obama said the debate over climate change is settled during his State of the Union speech on Tuesday evening.

"The shift to a cleaner energy economy won’t happen overnight, and it will require tough choices along the way," Obama said.

"But the debate is settled. Climate change is a fact."

"And when our children’s children look us in the eye and ask if we did all we could to leave them a safer, more stable world, with new sources of energy, I want us to be able to say yes, we did," Obama added emphatically.

The comments were met with a standing ovation from the majority of Democrats. But Democratic Senator Joe Manchin (W.Va.), who represents a coal-producing state, didn't join in, and Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) was spotted shaking her head.

The president has made tackling climate change a priority of his second term. The centerpiece of the effort is new regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency that will limit carbon emissions from new and existing power plnats.

Just like Obama, tackling something amorphous, with no real definition or way to measure as a goal that can neither be proved or disproved. Kind of like Pelosi when she was speaker saying she was busy trying to save the world with her environmental crackpottery.

“Climate change is a fact.”

That is quite true. The climate is not, nor has ever been, a static system. Of course, Hussein means something different.

Climate change is a fact.

The climate changes. There are long periods where the average is lower...and periods where it is warmer.

The little ice age had a colder climate. We are warmer today because we are coming out of LIA. If the sun has its way...we're headed for another LIA.

He is using the Newspeak definition of “fact,” (synonym for “science.”)

Defined as:

“Any statement uttered by a liberal that has no verifiable connection with observable and/or measurable reality.”

Climate change is a fact....... there can be no argument.

Climate is never static but always in a state of flux.

What is at issue is can governments have any effect on altering the change.

The answer is no.

” a safer, more stable world, with new sources of energy”

Care to share what these “new” sources of magic energy are?

>>> ‘Climate change is a fact,’ Obama declares <<<

Obama hasn’t been right about one thing is the last five years, so that probablly signals the end of the Global Warming scare.

Once Obama jumps on board you know that an issue has jumped the shark.

Obama got his ass laughed at in India for his Globull climate agenda speech.
The MSM will not tell us that truth. IT's convenient for America to be the evil
nation killing other countries so they can leach our Treasure for their socialism.
When our money runs out, their vacations are over.

Every IDIOT you hear talking and supporting this Hokus Pokus ding dong idiocy
needs to be shut down and embarrassed in public. That's the only way to end this Crap.

End the Climate Theology.

Of course climate change is “fact”. But of course he can’t say that the entire theory of man heating up the globe by our activities is complete baloney.

when our children’s children look us in the eye and ask if we did all we could

Our children’s children will be downtrodden serf's in a socialist police state. Those who look anyone in the eye, and those who ask uncomfortable questions, will be sent to camps.

If you call a dog’s tail a leg, how many legs does a dog have?

The correct answer, of course, is four. Calling a dog’s tail a leg doesn’t MAKE it a leg.

Calling climate change “settled science” doesn’t make it “settled science”, either. There is no such thing as “settled science”, if the scientific process is being applied as it was meant to be.

There are accepted hypotheses that stand up to repeated tests of a limited variety, but a new and different test of the hypothesis may cause repeated failures to attain a reproducible result, and a new hypothesis must be constructed to account for the disparity.

You cannot know what could go wrong, in any newly developed system, until after it has gone wrong.

I believe man has had an effect on the climate. But that effect is so infinitesimal that it falls into, and cannot be separated from the “noise” in the data. Those jerks say something like 95% of scientists agree man has had an effect. But I’ll bet if you asked those scientists about it, a HUGE percentage would say, “It’s infinitesimal and nothing to be concerned with at all!”

Well, he's right. Climate change *is* indeed a fact.

Antarctica used to be a lush rainforest, for example.

Climate change IS a fact. It’s been happening for 4 billion years and it will continue to happen for another 4 billion years. Mankind didn’t cause climate change and there is nothing that mankind can do to stop climate change. It is inevitable. Get over it and enjoy it.

Just curious. Was the term “settled science” ever used before the global war— I mean, climate change topic arose? Seems like an odd concept, anyway, since the history of science is man continually proving himself wrong.

Define climate.

As determined by climatologists, climate is an average of 30 years of weather.

The problem for climatologists who are pushing AGW, however, is that for the last 17 years, or more than half of a period of time they determined was a measure of climate, the Earth hasn't been warming as they have been predicting. The climate is indeed changing, but not in the manner they have been preaching.
