Wendy Davis, the long shot Democratic candidate for Texas governor, deserves all the scrutiny she is getting for blurring some facts in her compelling life story. When she got divorced, how long she lived as a single mother in a trailer, whether she was remarried and financially comfortable when she went off to Harvard Law School are not minor points in a narrative built on overcoming hardship.
Politicians, whatever their party, must be held to the highest standard of truth, so its entirely fair to rap her for overstating the adverse conditions of her life in order to make her climb to success sound more dramatic.
But when someone like 24-year-old Bristol Palin gets on her high horse to accuse Davis of abandoning her children while she pursued a law degree at Harvard, I have to laugh. Palin, who has ridden her mothers coattails to fame, God bless her, simply must be called out.
The eldest daughter of the former Alaska governor has flippantly inserted herself into an important conversation about women and children and careers. Unfortunately, she offers nothing useful or thoughtful:
Turns out, [Davis] lied about much of her pulling herself up by her own bootstraps story. Actually, she found a man to marry her, pay her way through college, and then through Harvard Law School. The day after he paid the last bill, she left him. By the way, she left her kids too. She said, 'its not a good time for me right now' to be a parent.
Is everyone paying attention? This woman is the hero of the Left? A woman whose ambition and ego were so big she couldnt have both a career and kids at the same time. Gosh, children are sooo inconvenient, huh?(continued)

God. Ugly is as ugly does. What a hag.
She was probably decent looking before the transistor came along.
Flippantly? Only in the sense that Wendy is also being flippant in saying that Women's matters are our #1 issue.
Robin, who gave up her kids, and who took care of hers?
Kind of sexist to tell a true single mother to go sit at the child’s table, isn’t it?
Exactly.
Women are harder on Women than Men.
LA Times long since lost ANY credibility when it comes to the Palins!

Dismount your rear end first, Ms Abcarian,
Why the Little Sisters of the Poor should embrace birth control pills
By Robin Abcarian

Leave it to the brilliant Malcolm Potts to explain why the Little Sisters of the Poor, the Colorado nuns who recently won an interim U.S. Supreme Court victory, are hurting themselves, not just their female employees, by claiming that they should be exempt from offering contraceptive coverage with their healthcare benefits.
Potts, a UC Berkeley public health professor who is an obstetrician and embryologist, is a celebrity in international reproductive health circles. For decades he has pioneered advances in womens reproductive health, particularly in the developing world.
Potts writes, many nuns would benefit physically from taking birth control pills — not for contraception, obviously, but for their health.
Bristol is a chip off the Sarah block .... a “Mama Grizzly” in her own right. I suspect she was disturbed and offended (being a single mom herself) when she read that Wendy Davis said “While Ive been a good mother, its not a good time for me right now.” While opting out of being a mother to her own kids, this is also the type of mindset that supports abortion - a baby is not convenient right now so I’ll just do away with it and not be bothered. The manipulation of her life story for political gain to one that many women have to live daily, that of hard work, deprivation, & struggle, offers further evidence of somebody who is ruthless in pursuit of their own ends and who has no shame or conscience.
Bristol didn’t make her point as well as she could have, but she’s got the ‘street cred’ to say what she said as a single mother so the “Unfortunately, she offers nothing useful or thoughtful” is disingenuous. The fact that the author colors her entire criticism of Bristol by pointing out (and more than once) that she is Sarah Palin’s daughter, drags Todd into the article and takes shots at the family circumstances (Todd having to work out of town to support his family) tells you where the real grit in her craw lies .... with “Sarah Palin’s daughter”, not Bristol.
Bristol must have hit a nerve with that abortion lover..Wendy Davis’s ONLY and I mean ONLY claim to fame is that she loves abortion, that’s it..she hasn’t said one thing she will do for the state of Texas..all the idiot does is talk about abortion..meanwhile, supposedly she is a woman to be admired, yeah someone who had a man pay for her schooling then the second the last check cleared she dumped him..she also abandoned her children for her career, and oh yeah, is a mega douche bag
Im still waiting for the LA Slimes(A rag NO ONE reads) to release that Rashid Khalidi tape, or am I going to have to wait til I am literally old and gray for them to actually release it..been waiting five years
Well they obviously don’t think much of Bristol Palin, yet they’re pleased as punch that their hero, Wendy Davis, has chosen to respond to Palin as a person worth responding to.
The Palins just scare the shi!t out of these libs!
They will always tell you what they fear.
Naw, she funneled some real estate deals her way while on City Council.
Wendy is Awesome!
That’s the most sophisticated insult I’ve heard in quite a while.
