How to debunk the 'war on women'
Washington Post ^ | 1/30/2014 | Charles Krauthammer

What is it about women that causes leading Republicans to grow clumsy, if not stupid? When even savvy, fluent, attractively populist Mike Huckabee stumbles, you know you’ve got trouble. Having already thrown away eminently winnable Senate seats in Missouri and Indiana because of moronic talk about rape, the GOP might have learned. You’d think ... Huckabee wasn’t quite as egregious, just puzzling and a bit weird. Trying to make a point about Obamacare mandating free contraceptives, he inexplicably began speculating that the reason behind the freebie was the Democrats’ belief that women need the federal government to protect them from their own libidos.

Not that Mike Huckabee was saying that women actually HAVE uncontrollable libidos, you understand, but that is the way that DEMOCRATS, and liberal Democrats in particular, see women, and treat them accordingly. ANY reference to the sexuality of the human female by a Republican is immediately redefined to mean that Republicans are overly obsessed, where it in fact the liberals who have this distorted view of femininity.

Accountability is just too onerous a burden for delicate little female physiques and psyches to bear, in the eyes of the liberals, with their adolescent world view. Must take away all this fuss and conventional thinking, doncha know, as that is the very heart of what is wrong with conservatives. Therefore, all forms of birth control, from simple condoms, abortifacient drugs, ovulation suppression devices and hormone treatments, physical abortion of the fetus, all the way up to infanticide, are all “acceptable” forms of population control, in the eyes of the dedicated liberal. Part of their wider view that the planet cannot adequately and sustainably support the population it now has, as there is just too much pressure on the earth deity Gaia.

Besides, a guy has got needs, and if his are so overwhelming, then the gals must have much the same level of needs. But if pregnancy is a consequence, well, just have to minimize that problem right off. And if AIDS or any other STD results, it is IMPERATIVE that side effect of copious and unguarded sex should also be vigorously treated by medical science, for a cure, or at least to alleviate the effects.

Gimme gimme gimme.

Krauthammer slips on one point when he calls out Huckabee as “stumbling” in the discussion. It was the MSM that stumbled in their reporting, IMO, rather than Huck whose words were straight-forward. BTW, no Huck lover here but his words were manipulated and twisted in this instance.

The “War on Women” was lost when Aristophanes put on the play “Lysistrata” for the first time.

Huckabee's statement was accurate, but too long and required average intelligence to follow. 49.9% of the population has below-average intelligence, and the media took a snippet out of his statement and presented it as if Huckabee was saying the exact opposite of what he really was saying.

Like with the Zimmerman case, it doesn't matter what the facts are, it matters what the media claims the facts are.
