Yeah, get past the whole communist thing. The play is even broader than that.

The people Zero works for want one thing - get the United States off the global power map. Making it communist doesn’t do that, because America is still whole.

Driving down it’s economy to create chaos, civil breakdown, reducing the population and making it fracture does, which it will if they keep doing things to undercut the free market.

Split the country, China takes the west coast, Mexico the Southwest, Russia Alaska, the interior states reform a new country, and DC takes the northeast. That’s what they really want.
