Be ready to jump through quite a few bureaucratic hoops, though. There are the lottery, assignment to some zone away from home, huge costs, etc.

Try elk hunting when you live in Ohio. can you say “next to impossible”? I’m liking the four corners region personally as this puts one in close to proximity to all kinds of good hunting and long range shooting opportunities. There’s basically no place around here to stretch out a high powered rifle. Hunting of any kind in Ohio is kind of a joke. I’ll find my west eventually.
