The A&E reality series Duck Dynasty nearly got derailed when one of its cast members echoed thoughts of many church goers regarding the gay lifestyle.
Come March, TLC will bring polygamy back into its lineup, and it likely won't generate a fraction of the controversy that Phil Robertson's musings met.
The one-hour special My Five Wives debuted last year on TLC, and now the network is offering nine new episodes of the polygamist clan.
As TLC says in its press release concerning the show, "families come in all different shapes and sizes ..."
The first new show will bow on March 9, and each show promises to look "behind closed doors" to see this "big, loving, progressive family."(continued)

There’s another show called Sister Wives, I’m not sure what network it’s on, and it is the same premise. Some guy who thinks he’s a stud with all these women vying for his attention. And there are children from these relationships as well. Why is it in most all polygamous relationships, it’s one man, and many women?
Five wives means five mothers-in law.What sane man would subject himself to THAT?
and if each wife has 5 husbands and they each have 5 wives and they each have.... imagine how fast the VD spreads

Plenty of men in the USA have had more than one wife. Newt Gingrich comes to mind. So does Rush Limbaugh. Regardless of any other arguments the Bible is clear that both of these conservative icons are either polygamous or adulterous. You pick.
The hypocrisy here is that our society is just fine with these men and it's also just fine with Charlie Sheen and Hugh Hefner who practiced polygamy openly and brazenly. But if a man commits to his women instead of treating them like whores or just abandoning them when they no longer suit his tastes, well, that's a problem.
And don't get me started on the legions of black men who openly practice taxpayer-subsidized polygamy while no one says a word about it lest they be called 'racist'.
All of the aforementioned men have more than one wife even if they are not formally married to each of them at the same time.
That said, I have a hard time with condemning the men who want more than one woman and who commit to taking care of them all.
I understand your point...but getting a divorce can have biblical approval....I don’t have any idea why Newt or Rush or even Ronald Reagan got divorced....they could have been valid biblical reasons....doubt it but I don’t know...
Also in todays world as long as you are legally divorced and are legally married...you are not committing adultery....or in a polygamous union...
