The age of consent in Arizona appears to be 18. I believe at best this was statutory rape, so how that will impact this case, guess we’ll see.
I'm not sure the jury would agree with trying her as an adult. She's 16. In an inappropriate relationship. Her mother is clearly a fail based on the amount of metal in the girl's face and the fact that this relationship was ongoing.
The mother claims she was mentally ill. Was there evidence of that before this event? Or is the mother claiming that now because her daughter is facing murder charges?
