A mentally ill woman forced on to the Coalition’s Work Programme is in a coma – but is still being sent letters by benefits assessors.
Bipolar patient Sheila Holt, 47, was sectioned in December after being taken off Income Support. Days later she had a heart attack and fell into the coma.
This weekend, Miss Holt, of Rochdale, Gtr Manchester, was sent a letter by Atos to ask why she was not working.

“This Government is causing a huge amount of damage and I have no doubt that Sheila’s story is being repeated in towns and cities up and down the country.
“She has a complex disability caused by severe trauma in her childhood and you cannot aggressively push vulnerable people, like Sheila, back into work because it can have, as we’ve seen, very serious health consequences.”
Her dad Kenneth said: “It’s just not right what they have done. It sent my daughter hypermanic.
“She said to me, ‘they are going to knock my money off me dad’. I said they wouldn’t do that. She wasn’t looking for a job - she couldn’t - until they forced her to.
“She hadn’t had a job for 26 years. Anyone who knew her would tell you she couldn’t do a job.”

Horsecrap. With a very few exceptions, everyone can do something. That's just an excuse to keep people on the dole, and enslaved to government.

The disabled thing aside, it’s not her money. It is the taxpayers money that forcibly taken from them (paid to the Crown) and given to her.
Too many people believe Welfare belongs to them.
we always hear about the sad sack who NEEDS the system, but that the system has ALREADY FAILED, meanwhile there are thousands (or millions) who are MILKING THE SYSTEM who do not deserve it.
And this is presented as a story about how they ‘need more funding’
every sinlge person on welfare shouyld be brought in to ask why they are not working.
When Obamacare ruins the country do they think they will be allowed to continue to sit on their fat asses?

True, everyone can do something, but then the government turns around and makes it illegal for them to do anything for less than twice what the value of their productivity would be, and where does that leave them?

Basically means you are admitted to a secure unit of a hospital psychiatric reasons. You have no choice but to go there and will not be released until your deemed well by doctors.

Many of these people would be willing to work if someone found the job for them. After being turned down for employment over and over these people fear the interview process more than the work.
So...a government job would work?
Post office is always looking for people like this. Maybe in a few years she can be a postmistress.
Same reason schools will never be forced to check on status of students entering or attending their schools, teachers and administrators would lose their jobs and entire schools would close!
Dittos for healthcare, hospitals, clinics and now food stamps; we're advertising for more food stamps "clients," for God's sake!
