Report: US Abortion Rate Lowest Since 1973

NEW YORK (AP) — The U.S. abortion rate declined to its lowest level since 1973, and the number of abortions fell by 13 percent between 2008 and 2011, according the latest national survey of abortion providers conducted by a prominent research institute.

The Guttmacher Institute, which supports legal access to abortion, said in a report being issued Monday that there were about 1.06 million abortions in 2011 — down from about 1.2 million in 2008. Guttmacher's figures are of interest

The morning after pill in my opinion is not in the same category as MURDERING a viable fetus in the womb! This comes from someone who in the 70’s had to draw blood from women who were seven and eight months pregnant. The morning after pill prevents the implantation of the embryo which is just a hollow ball of cells at that point. I would prefer that that embryo be nurtured and carried to full term by the mother, but the erroneous decision by the SCOTUS in 1973 made it possible for women to legally “choose” to not do so.
