Not that I want to live in a theocracy or anything, but I don’t want to live in a anything-goes society either.

The supposedly tolerant progressives seem to become more in-your-face and hostile to anyone that disagrees with them every day.

Could you provide some examples of nations and artists?

My understanding is that Western Civ since the mid-1700s has been more or less historically unique in having a consistent intellectual/artistic "anti-culture." This anti-culture or counter-culture has widened and deepened its influence, with occasional setbacks, to where it is today dominates the popular culture.

If there are other examples in history of such a phenomenon, I'd be grateful if they were pointed out.
