Security for the Governor of NJ is provided by the State Police. This is generally true of most states. Carvounis is a NJ State Police trooper.

Cop school 101. If you're gonna drive drunk, let your drunk cop friend do the driving. I don't care if you have to tie his hands at 10:00 and 2:00 and work the pedals yourself from the other side.

Free pass given due to "Professional Courtesy".
