the tea party doesn’t exist any more. certainly not the legitimate political movement that existed four years ago. THOSE tea partiers knew who stole their health care. THOSE tea partiers knew the difference between defeating the extremist agenda of the obamites, and committing suicide.

THIS tea party, the phoney one, has been abducted by purist thugs that are more concerned with destroying the republican party than defeating the liberals.

if the rest of us don’t wake up, they will bring us speaker pelosi, the sequel.

I love the article, but, I'd like to comment on this portion:

Cornyn faces his own primary, in ONE MONTH. There are several candidates, and it appears that they are hoping to replicate the Cruz victory path…hold Cornyn to under 50%, and then beat him in the run-off. I don’t think that’s viable, because the circumstances aren’t the same. Cruz ran for an open seat. Here, Cornyn’s a sitting senator, part of GOP leadership, and a potential Majority Leader in waiting.

The guy Cruz faced was much more viable than Cornyn. David Dewhurst: 1. Was entrenched in Texas politics for a gazillion years. 2. He had the backing of the Establishment Pubbies, even Gov. Rick Perry. 3. He had a whole crap load of money and name recognition. 4. The people of Texas (and I'm a Texan) don't give a s**t about Cornyn possibly being Majority Leader. So, don't think the Cornyn race is any great mountain to climb than Ted Cruz had; it's not. Defeating Cornyn is very doable.

If you want McConnell to get support of conservatives, explain how his deal making advances conservative causes. We vote in people who tell they support our causes, then when they take office instead of advancing our causes, they undermine them. Untill we get leadership who are will to tell Democrats that the advancement of the conservative agenda is the price of a deal we will support the removal of these place holders.

Exhibit A of the bad faith of our leaders is the decay of the budget process. Where were the speeches decrying the senates abdication of normal order?

then you are too stupid to vote.

No, just unwilling to sell our principles. You on the other hand appear to be for sale.

Sincerity is everything,
if you can fake that, you got it made.

you’re the reason we need six wins to flip the senate, not two.

No Karl "Tokyo" Rove is the reason we need any seats at all. Thankfully his fund raising is down 97%, this year, but he is quietly aligning himself with other fundraising groups, hoping that no one will notice.

Remember when Mitch announced that they must work to marginalize the TEA Party people before they took office in 2010? I do.

Cruz will be the nominee for President in 2016.

If that’s the case, HE WILL WIN..... I don’t care if the Hispanic vote did go for Obama in ‘08 and ‘12.... The Latino Community is ready for a Hispanic President. Cruz or Rubio.....either could be elected; guaranteed.

Thune’s a RINO. Might as well keep Mitch or Cornyn. Mike Lee would be great.

JohnnieB the only difference between you, McConnell and your Republican party and the democrats is the price tag.

So what you are saying is if your vote and principles are not for sell you are nothing more than a purist, then call me a purist. Right now the Chamber of Commerce is actively buying your purist Republicans in the Congress off for their amnesty votes.

I have lived with McConnell since 1984, I voted for the slug in every election, I have met the man and he has the personality of a mashed cat. If he is the GOP nominee he will lose to that idiot Grimes because he is not well liked in general and he is loathed by most of the states conservatives and that loathing-—McConnell generated it when HE went to war against the tea party and conservatives. I know Goldwater conservatives who have voted straight tickets since 64 who and I quote, “neither party is worth a damn right now, they stand for nothing...” who will be sitting this election out should Bevin lose the primary and as for “the democrats win vote for us or it’s Armageddon!”, that bogey man won’t hunt in more. With the current GOPe you just a cheaper version of the original.

Who do you think the tea party is liberal democrats and little old ladies? They are conservatives who have been repeatedly lied to by the likes of you and McConnell, told we are one of you but since I am elected shut the hell up and go away you are bothering me I have deals to make and money to make with the democrats.

No thanks! And if the GOP doesn’t take the senate the Republican party has only themselves to blame. Right now they are offering nothing but me too, but just a little cheaper than my opponent BS. Maybe they could move farther left and garner the cheap ass liberal votes if that is possible.

Exactly right. The GOP needs to look at which president in our lifetimes garnered the most electoral votes and won by the biggest landslide margins, then find someone who best fits that mold. It was Reagan and we need a true conservative to motivate the base and get them excited to go vote and to bring some neighbors to the polling places as well.

Romney sucked
McCain sucked
Dole sucked

Milquetoast moderates are losers. Conservatives can win.
