They should have just spoke Spanish and say Viva Mexico...and would be waived right thru

If we can overly harass US citizens...we can seal our borders and deport all illegals

DOD contractors are supposed to be issued Red Passports that allow them easier egress.

Sounds like Asian torture. Death by a thousand cuts, or maybe Chinese water torture. Where is John Wayne?

the delay had more to do with the verbal confrontation between two contractors and a CBP officer, who responded by “being obstinate and slowing things down.”

I. Don’t. Care.

You’re not in the military. You’re a government employee. You shouldn’t get through customs any quicker than I do.

I don’t want a system where you have to know someone or be a big shot to receive decent treatment. If everyone — big, powerful people — has to experience the misery involved with getting on an airplane, inflicted on us by our own government, then maybe something will be done about it.

We’re already behind the eight ball by not screaming out heads off that congressmen, senators and their staffers quietly enacted “special” security lines for themselves and their hangers-on.

Only members of the military should not have to deal with this nonsense.

It was a different story for the 112 Department of Defense contractors — those hired to fly drones, do intelligence analysis, fix computers and other jobs...

The ones we need to ID, track and be prepared to neutralize when the SHTF.

99 times out of 100, Customs will treat military and those on military of military charter flights with kid glove treatment. That was my experience, and I dealt with US Customs A LOT.

As pilot in command, I would greet them at the door. Open anything they asked to be opened. We complied with every request. If you even made the effort to take care of them, they took care of you. Anytime we got hassled it was become someone was a jerk and asked for it.

Most times, the agents would shake my hand, say welcome home, and tell us "you're good."

Most of these folks are not your typical TSA flunkie. They are far above that.

But, everyone knew you didn't mess with them or their jobs. They have the authority to delay, detain, and fine you. So does every customs, no matter what the country. We had a stupid co-pilot who tried to sneak food through Australian Customs. He learned. Turkish Customs was the worst, but the US Customs treatment in Hawaii was not far behind.
