BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) A Brazilian senator has nominated National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden for the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize.

The NSA has issues wrt American Citizens.
This security thing wouldn’t be so much of an issue if only our government would target the right kind of people. Maybe we wouldn’t have had 4 people killed and 256 severely injured in that Boston Marathon “misunderstanding”.
I’m with Brazil on this.
The NP has been political, but now it is more so.
Because they gave one to the biggest privacy invader in world history BHO, my strong prediction is The Committee will play it political and try to reclaim some residual credibility by counter-balancing with a Snowden NP.
EDWARD DESERVES IT, BUT MAY WIN ONE OWING TO POLITICS.
i like it
a brazilian reasons why snowden should get it
I second that nomination. Snowden = Mr Sunshine
Given that Brazil would have motive to see anything take the US down a notch (in any time), I’m not so sure that this is with the most noble of intents. Snowden took a position that is, on the balance, against the US - with a few pieces of information that he knew would be PR friendly to release.
Siding with the not-so-friendly BRICs, given his conduct, isn’t exactly Nobel material - even in light of the devalued award.
Anyway about as much right to a Nobel prize as POTUS King Amabo did. I should nominate myself for one too.
