In November of 2013, Russian media reported that U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul would soon resign; McFaul emphatically denied he was going anywhere. Yet today, he announced his resignation. Izvestia and Gazeta.ru reported the news back in November. […]

McFaul is the chief architect of Obama’s “reset” policy with Russia, a policy that diagnosed Vladimir Putin not as a dangerous foe of the U.S. but as a misunderstood statesman who had been alienated by Republican policies inspired by Ronald Reagan. In practice, “reset” was McFaul’s euphemism for appeasement. The results of this policy were completely predictable: sensing weakness, Putin attacked. …

I know what you mean Mogger. I think you’ve touched on an interesting issue there. It is still troublesome to me his prior position at the KGB.

How do you give the guy a total pass knowing his past?

He’s making some very interesting comments, and I think he’s right about them. Now, is he really tipping us off that he cares which way the U. S. goes?

Maybe so. Perhaps the guy is conflicted to a certain extent. Then again, he may just be gaming us.

I don’t think he is total. To what degree, can anyone really know?

KGB was a good job to have at the time, he had to do something.

Now, is he really tipping us off that he cares which way the U. S. goes?

From what I've read of his writings, so far, I don't think he directly gives a rats behind about the USA.

He is deathly afraid that communism will take a hold here and spread back to Russia from here.

To that extent, he is forced to care about what happens here.

Then again, he may just be gaming us.

You never really know.
