From the article: "Sources also tell us … someone involved in the heroin market in NYC contacted police and gave them the names and addresses of two alleged drug dealers who pushed the drug.." What do you want the police to do, ignore the informant's tip because the victim was famous?

The police were very actively seeking the dealer, so tips were called in.

This never happens when ordinary folks OD on heroin.

They just pick up the body and make another entry in the database.
