But the nations critical infrastructure is at high risk. Remember the big power outages we’ve had in the past? They were all causes by a minor disruption in one area that resulted in cascade failures over a much bigger area due to the protective capability built into the grid. Unlike EMP, an attack like the one the article presumably describes could be worked-around, but it would take time, and cause great disruption, and perhaps panic. Just think about how long a large city could go without any credit, debit, or EBT transactions and you’ll see what I mean.
